Overview:
(Yes, 45 cards. This is on purpose to not draw too many encounter cards. See at the end to remove/add cards ;) )

  • Play Style : Immortal, regenerating, cosmic being. Health-as-Resources.
  • Fun: Extremely high! (one of the biggest health pool available in the game, but you regenerate! Laugh at damage encounter cards, you just don't die).
  • Difficulty : Medium to High (you need to know what's in your deck and/or discard pile to get the most out of it).
  • Power level : Strong (in solo and multi)
  • Recommended Player Count : Any (in multi you can often spare an ally to defend for others while taking hits like they're nothing).

This deck has won against multiple Expert villains. I haven't tried Ronan but it should be excellent at tanking Fanaticism hits now that I think about it :o

Concept:
Adam Warlock lacks consistency. You never know if you'll be able to thwart/attack next turn, nor what you'll be able to play during the game.

This deck tries to solve these by giving you:

How to play this deck / combos:
1. Accepting Adam Warlock

  • Playing Adam Warlock is always a bit random! Accept that. But also know that the deck packs a lot of redundancy! You have to compose with what arrives first in your hand, yet every path is good, this is part of the fun!
  • You WON'T get to play every card or combo in the deck in any one game. But hopefully, the main combo + 1 or 2 smaller ones will be enough ;) For instance: sometimes you just won't find the opportunity to play the Rogue ally, and that's okay! Rarely you'll discard Aggressive Conditioning the whole game, that's also okay! Quantum Magic will get into your hand at some point, you'll be able to choose what you want to prioritize this game.
  • Do not hesitate to discard your cards. The random part of Adam is fairly mitigated here, as we can survive quite some attacks from the enemy.
  • Cosmic Wards are surprisingly good in this deck! Even more during early game when you're still vulnerable. Try to play this card whenever you see it! It counteracts the fact you draw 1 extra encounter card with Symbiote Suit. Btw, be a cosmic gentleman and houserule that the extra card is only for you in multiplayer :)
  • Adam's Karmic Staff is super good. But you won't always be able to play the 3 (rather expensive,) Mystic Senses + Warlock's Cape cards. They're good to have, but this is part of doing with what the Cosmic Gods gave you so...it's okay, your hero ability isn't that useful here anyway.

2. Early game

  • Focus on playing Soul World and cards that increase your max hit points. Also play The Sorcerer Supreme, Bloodgem and Clarity of Purpose when you see them.
  • Use Quantum Magic to find those cards (especially Soul World on your first cycle!).
  • Once you get Soul World, you can start rushing through your deck (see below). Ideally you always want 1 counter on Soul World unless you have 30+ HP.
  • If you discarded Soul World and both Quantum Magic, rush through your deck (see below).

3. Reaching 37 Hit Points

4. Use your health pool

  • The main way to use it is to: laugh at encounter cards that deal damage!!! (including villain extra attacks, quickstrike minions, etc.) This is incredibly fun and a great power fantasy :)
  • Retaliate X, pay-to-remove attachments and attachments/obligations sending you to alter-ego also are not an issue here. In other words, very few encounter cards can really hurt you.
  • Pay cards every turn with Clarity of Purpose and Bloodgem. 3HP is less than 10% of your health. Remember that paying 2 hit points to play a +3HP card like Defensive Conditioning is great value!
  • Draw cards with Taunt.
  • Deal damage with Toe to Toe.
  • Confuse with "Think Fast!".
  • Boost the Rogue ally to 5 THW/ATK.

5. Cycling your deck

6. Going into Alter-Ego

  • Confuse the villain with Professor X, "Think Fast!" and Battlefield Benevolence. Remember to deal 2 damage to the villain even at early stage.
  • You won't need to go every turn, especially when you reach 20+ hit points. But don't hesitate to use your 1 soul counter, you'll cycle your deck soon enough anyway.
  • Remember to use as many HP as you can before healing. Bloodgem is NOT hero-restricted ;)

7. End game

Other cards to consider:

Anyway, enjoy, have fun,
and don't forget to drop a like/fav, it's always appreciated :)

Insane! I’m here for it. A tank build that would make The Hulk blush. Very clever concept for addressing his consistency issue. Thanks for the detailed write-up.

Excellent deck! Im gonna give it a try!

Mar 04, 2026 Game Design Raccoon · 3394

@eroush Thanks, hope you have fun with it! ;)

@everyone: Oops, I just remembered (after playing like 6-7 games with this deck) that Rogue only cares about "printed THW / ATK" hahaha :p
She's still worth it imo, and can target Nick and Prof X when you play them, or Adam whenever needed. Otherwise Daredevil is always a safe bet if you need even more thwarting power, Get Behind Me! or Bait and Switch could also be useful but I found them very meh, even in this deck because unreliable.

Sorry for that, and enjoy being a cosmic god :)

@batman Thank you as well! You posted at the same time :)

Love it! Warlock is slept on, he's able to do some really fun things

Mar 04, 2026 N1GHTCRAW73R · 689

Did you try or consider Taunt as another consideration to switch with Rogue?

Mar 04, 2026 Game Design Raccoon · 3394

@Castlefrank47 Thx, yes he's the "worst MYSTIC" in my group, but still a MYSTIC :p

@N1GHTCRAW73R Taunt is in the deck hahaha.

Imagine if Deadpool had 37 HP for his events

Mar 08, 2026 thom1977 · 432

Fun idea! I’ve definitely gotta try this one!

Mar 10, 2026 Game Design Raccoon · 3394

@fluffyseaotter You could reach it in a 4 players game (3 players with Spider-Woman as those are "play under any player's control" :)

@thom1977 Thx, have fun with it! ;)

I had a lot of fun playing this deck. Thank you! Haven't tried out Adam Warlock yet and was on En Sabah Nur in my personal quests when I decided to try this, and was victorious. Popping Soul World for a full heal when I was sitting on 3 Health -> 17 Health was very satisfying. Obviously didn't have the full tank in effect but didn't take away from the satisfaction.

Mar 14, 2026 Game Design Raccoon · 3394

@sneakysquid This is for those exact moments that I created this deck!!! This is so cool, hope you try it again to reach the full 36 heal now hahaha :)

This looks like a lot of fun

Mar 17, 2026 Doomfarer · 1

Great work! One of the most fun decks I have played.

Mar 20, 2026 Game Design Raccoon · 3394

@zimmerza and @Doomfarer Thx! And glad to hear it!!

Mar 22, 2026 Grawlix_Ipsum · 1

One of the most fun decks I’ve played recently. I even managed the full 36 hp heal when I flipped with one hp left. It’s hilarious to just face tank everything from there on out and not care.

Mar 24, 2026 Game Design Raccoon · 3394

@Grawlix_Ipsum Achievement unlocked! Once again so cool to see the deck being played and bringing fun :)

I've played on shield campaign, solo mode expert level. For the first 2 scenario seems to be a good deck but it's a little bit slowly. On batroc scenario you don't have time and resource to build and beat the Ambient e the scheme. Anyway, i think that is a good idea and a funny deck.

I played this deck ... Expert Rhino solo was harsh. I made a 50 cards solo version that works for me. Some day I will post it. I guess this version works best in multi (or that I don't play it optimally) (My biggest regret was that I wanted to go beyond the 37HP by adding Honorary Guardian and go to 38 ... but the card is way too weak and just waste a slot)

Apr 21, 2026 Game Design Raccoon · 3394

@Emired84 and @Hankroyd Oh, I'm sorry to hear you didn't have great success with the deck... :/
I personally feel confident it could beat most expert villains but 1/ I haven't actually tried them all, and 2/ solo can have such a huge variance that you're right to assume it will shine much better in multiplayer.

@Emired84 I tried Baron Zemo expert and paying the comitee members environment was such a breeze with Clarity of Purpose + Bloodgem :p However I can see it being rough surviving the first few hits and extra-scheming with only 11HP and no allies in hand! But usually if you can survive the first deck pass, you're okay (in my experience)...

Anyway, I hope you still had fun playing (or customizing the deck in your case @Hankroyd)! :)

Oh My Warlock! This deck is the most fun I've ever had playing Marvel Champions. I played this on a whim and randomly pulled out 4 Horseman for the scenario. Little did I know these two are perfectly aligned to make for a very fun experience. The 12 threat main scheme gave me enough room to get set up my outrageous HP gains, but Famine knocking out 10 cards from my deck, Pestilence blanking my card, and War removing upgrades meant there was always something to think about. I was basically playing on Heroic 1 because of an early side scheme that gave +card, into cycling my deck, into symbiote suit, which made for a great push and pull while I got up to 34 HP. The game had a great flow, lots of fun decision points, and still felt close to losing even though I could basically sit in hero mode and take shots to the face without defending. I'm gonna play this setup like 20 more times. Thanks for the great deck!

@brodavii So glad you loved it, and made it through such an epic game! :)
Have a great time playing it again ;) Each game can feel so different (in a good way) with this deck I found.

Very Nice - I had a similar concept that I call "Battle Mage", but I forgot about Front LIne specialist. Since I avoid Symbiote Suit because it pisses off the table (I LOVE IT THOUGH), I'm anticipating the 27 HP limit.. Should be fine..

One thing I'm trying is to Build Support in Weapon X - A fast way to zoom through the deck every turn, not skipping over Adam's events.. And in the early game his upgrades!

May 31, 2026 Game Design Raccoon · 3394

@ProducePirate I highly encourage you to houserule the Symbiote Suit like I said in the writeup: "Btw, be a cosmic gentleman and houserule that the extra card is only for you in multiplayer" ;)
It really is much more fun for everyone, especially as it would be a shame to skip the opportunity to play it in this specific deck :)
