Why protection?

I chose protection because Never Back Down can effectively stop 2 villain activations for an effective cost of 2, and that cost can be reduced to 0 with Friction Resistance and Unflappable. The value and ability stall to get setup is tremendous.

Otherwise, Armored Vest, Dauntless, and Unflappable are all cheap upgrades that let Quicksilver profit from his free defense activation every turn. No other aspect would give him the opportunity to do this. I would like to add Electrostatic Armor and 3x Hard to Ignore to capitalize more on this free activation, but I could not find room and once you see the win condition, it is probably unnecessary.

Why so much neutral?

In addition to protection, I chose several neutral cards to help Quicksilver stall and survive. Down Time, Endurance, Ready to Rumble, and Symbiote Suit all help shore up Quicksilver’s low HP and REC and help him both stay in the game longer and get back quicker. Ready to Rumble is amazing with Quicksilver because it allows you to ATK / THR once, flip down and REC, then next turn REC, flip up, and ATK / THW twice. Symbiote Suit is also amazing with Quicksilver because he can benefit from all the stat bonuses that the suit provides.

Next is the resource package. Double resources are self-explanatory and especially efficient when many of Quicksilver’s hero cards cost 2. The Power in All of Us has 7 targets including the otherwise expensive Symbiote Suit. Helicarrier and Quincarrier are obvious adds and Deft Focus is exceptionally good with Quicksilver since 14 of his 15 hero cards are superpowers.

Last is the win condition. The goal of the deck is to pile up Adrenaline Rush and Tenacity over the course of the game and then use Serval Industries to stack your deck with Always Be Running and one copy of Maximum Velocity. With Symbiote Suit, Reinforced Sinew, Maximum Velocity, and 3x Adrenaline Rush, you can get Quicksilver's attack up to 8 for one whole turn. Then, with Quicksilver’s 2 normal activations + 3x Tenacity+ 4x Always Be Running, you can ATK a maximum of 9 times for a total of 72 damage in one turn.

Obviously, this is an ideal situation where everything falls into place. But it is not actually that difficult to achieve. You can literally use all the Quicksilver cards to pay for the neutral upgrades over the course of the game and then you only must flip down once to shuffle 4 of the 5 Quicksilver events that you want in your final hand back into your deck. If you are playing solo, as I often do, then you often only need half of the maximum potential damage to clear both stages of a villain. The rest of the game can be spent managing the schemes and minions.

Anyhow, this is my idea of a Quicksilver + Symbiote Suit + Protection build and it is really fun to play. You are constantly making decision about what upgrades to invest in and how to best use your hero actions. Any comments, thoughts, or advice would be greatly appreciated.
