Synopsis
A deck focused on getting the most out of ally She-Hulk.
With no limit on She-Hulk's ability, she has a lot of potential. The trick is, she's stuck in the Aggression aspect, so how do you take her into overdrive? Enter Jennifer's BFF ...Jessica, who (as of this writing) is the only hero able to take 2 aspects, so we can buff She-Hulk with all of those awesome leadership cards!
Strategy
- Mulligan for She-Hulk ...duh, she's kind of the lynch-pin to this whole deck.
- After that, prioritize getting out Boot Camp, Team Training, and/or Reinforced Suit to boost her hit points.
- Since She-Hulk is best with lots of damage on her, you'll need to manage her health with First Aid, Ready for Action, and Inspiring Presence. Alternatively, use Teamwork to benefit from her high attack power without taking consequential damage.
- Boost She-Hulk's attack even further with Boot Camp and Power Gloves. Power Gloves are fantastic at clearing Tough status cards.
- All kitted out, She-Hulk can hit for 7 damage (bringing her one-hit to death) plus the bonus damage from Power Gloves. If you ready and heal her with Inspiring Presence, she can do it again. That's 16 damage before Spider-Woman has had a chance to activate!
But what about:
- ...Defense? The goal of this deck is to hit fast and hard, which somewhat mitigates the damage that Spider-Woman has to soak. That said, playing a couple aspect cards gives her decent defense going into the villain phase. While the healing cards are best saved for She-Hulk, Down Time has Spider-Woman covered. There's also Contaminant Immunity and Pheromones. You're good.
- ...Thwarting? We're running the bare-minimum here. Spider-Woman can thwart on those turns where she's not defending, or when she has Self-Propelled Glide in hand. Chase Them Down is great in minion-heavy scenarios. Beyond that, it's just Inconspicuous and Captain Marvel. It's not a lot, but it's sufficient for most games.
- ...Only one copy of She-Hulk in the deck? Darn restrictions on uniques! Your options are to hard mulligan for She-Hulk, or Call for Aid. Be aware that Call for Aid is not a sure bet, since Captain Marvel is a viable target.
- ...There are too many cards in the deck!! Boo hoo. Live with it. This deck rocks.
Weaknesses
- The biggest weakness of this deck is Time-Travel Hijinks. The only defense you have against it is using Captain Marvel as a shield.

Feb 02, 2021I don't really understand why people build 40 card decks in this game. It's not Magic; running out of cards won't lose you the game. The number of cards you draw is much higher, too. In fact, you will run through your deck at least a couple of times in each game. There are also many ways to search for your cards. And the cards themselves are flexible enough that you generally don't rely on a key card to make the deck work. Well, except for maybe this deck. :) |
Feb 02, 2021Boo hoo! You villain! |

Running out of cards actually does make you lose (if you have no deck and no discard pile and you need to draw). |

I also think you meant that the 41st card is the "least" important and should not be included. But, let's take that theory to reductio ad absurdum. Suppose the rules let you build a deck of any size. What would the best deck size be? Would you say that it's 6 cards since that's what most first turn draws will be? Is it better not to include the 7th card in that scenario because it is the "least important"? |
Feb 02, 2021Deck idea looks really fun. However, even though you kind of addressed it, running more than 40 cards when you need to hard mulligan for one specific card definitely makes me lol. |
Feb 04, 2021Spiderwoman truly is the best hero to buff up her allies. |
Mar 15, 2021First of all, A+, absolutely amazing deck. Thematically and power-wise are both absolute S Tier. After playing a few games with it, I did make a few tweeks that I think worked out for the best, but would like to know your opinion! -1 Boot Camp I felt like most games I was getting through the whole deck before getting all the pieces to get Jennifer going, so running two of these seemed slightly unnecessary. -1 Teamwork This card is fucking amazing but it feels so incredibly bad when you get 2 copies in one hand. -2 Piercing Strike -2 Relentless Assault I might just not run into enough guard minions or self-buffing villains to make use of these, but I found that these usually didn't help much. -1 The Power of Aggression Dropping 5 2+ Aggro cards definitely made running two of these way too heavy. +1 Brawn Synergizes insanely well with the ally upgrades in the deck, doesn't mess with Call for Aid, and even works well thematically. 2 Att and 1 Thw for 6 rounds for 3? Hrrrrnnnnn +1 Maria Hill One of the best allies in the game and doesn't mess with Call for Aid. |
Mar 15, 2021^ Disregard this comment, I completely missed that Spider-Woman needs an equal number of both aspect cards in her deck |

Unfortunately, there is far greater demand for Leadership cards than Aggression in this build, which led to some compromises. Brawn would be a good include, and could replace one copy of Relentless Assault or Boot Camp. With a Boot Camp and Team Training out, he can dish out a total of 12 attack + 3 thwart! If you're going that route, I can see dropping one copy of Teamwork for another Reinforced Suit. |
Wah wah. It's Jennifer Walters not Jessica Walters. fail
