"I'm still Worthy."
Hello again, my fellow Champions! I wanted to share this deck that I've been having fun with recently that makes use of Organizational Support to prove that Thor is still worthy.
Thor's Support Team
-
Organizational Support is a super fun card that we can take special advantage of because Thor is an Avenger with access to a team of awesome allies and 3x Quinjets which shares his trait. Even Asgard and Avengers Tower can contribute when needed to increase resource generation. It's so easy to get 2-4 resources with each use of this card to prove your worthiness in the coming battles!
-
Build out your board state with Asgard, 2x God of Thunder, Quincarrier, Clarity of Purpose, Avengers Tower, Avengers Mansion, Deft Focus, and most importantly, Quinjets.
-
Enhance your card draw by triggering "Have at thee!" with Defender of the Nine Realms, Squared Off and Face the Past.
-
Ready your teammates with Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Avengers Assemble!. After plenty of testing, I like Earth's Mightiest Heroes over Limitless Stamina because it is resource for Lightning Strike and it has the flexibility to ready an ally like Vision that can come in swinging really hard.
-
Smash your foes with Hammer Throws. This is where your allies and supports can directly contribute to your hero's damage output by making Hammer Throws easier than ever through Organizational Support which can easily generate 3x resources. It's starting to look like the whole team is worthy now.
-
Zap everyone with Lightning Strikes! Not only do we have 20 resources to make our Lightning Strikes worthy, we've also got a neat interaction with Organizational Support. Resource costs and ability costs are paid simultaneously. So if we use our 3x Quinjets, Organizational Support generates , which can be used to simultaneously pay for the printed 1 cost of Lightning Strike () and the damage boost cost (). When you add onto that your 2x God of Thunders and a Quincarrier, you can easily slay nearly any group of minions engaged with you and put some hurt on the villain. Many of our allies are also resources, which gives us some flexibility if we are lacking Quinjets.
Organizational Priorities
-
After numerous games with Thor, I tend to prioritize Asgard over everything else. It's also important to start with a minion generator (Defender of the Nine Realms, Face the Past, or Squared Off + suitable ally). I know For Asgard! gets slept on, but I've used it in several games to grab Asgard if the situation allows it and I can play it immediately.
-
Quinjets and other board-building cards are vital to setting up your Organizational Support plays and the earlier you get them out, the bigger allies you can deploy in the end game.
-
Deploy allies as you see fit to maintain tempo on the board. I particularly love Hawkeye in this deck because you have so many ways to find minions. I typically save the bigger ones for later to pay with a fully amped up Organizational Supports or discounted with Squared Off.
After all that, we can see that Thor is still worthy and really enjoys having a well established support system to help him bring the thunder.
If you try this deck out, let me know! I hope you have a blast with it and can enjoy Thor if you haven't been playing him much.
Peace!
