How It Works

Jennifer's deck

  • Hellcat - you might not always play her, but often a welcome sight. Return to hand is a great ability.
  • One-Two Punch - along with Superhuman Strength, your best card in the deck. It would be nice if Superhuman Strength were an interrupt, so that you could choose to use it, but oh well!
  • Ground Stomp - I played it once, but it was very clutch-- details below. Usually a resource
  • Focused Rage - used it most often for the energy resource to discard villain attachments
  • Legal Practice - never played it
  • Split Personality - it can help take mostly trash hero hands and set you up essentially a free alter-ego turn, or can take some extra Iron Man largesse and hit the battlefield hard.
  • Superhuman Law Division - a nice card that I did use a couple of times. The reality is that her I Object! is more effective as a small but effortless thwart effect.

The Rest of the Deck

I was inspired by listening to the Alter-Egos podcast of this deck with some adaptation to playstyle and situation.

  • Hall of Heroes is part of the Asgard red package with Valkyrie and Battle Fury -- which isn't technically Asgardian, but look at that art!
  • Skilled Strike played almost every time I saw it-- maybe it paid for a One-Two Punch a few times
  • Toe to Toe was there for a Counterattack combo, but I really used it more often to take care of minions on my turn where I had more choices.
  • Melee did not get played.
  • Down Time takes her to 7 REC which is just bonkers. Ending the round in alter-ago goes a lot farther
  • Resourceful worked better than it had any right to!

Campaign Notes

She spent a long time looking for a partner deck that worked as well as hers until this Iron Man blue deck. It's easy to play and plenty of fun. Good pair with a combo deck for a solo, two-handed playthrough.

This particular deck got through Taskmaster, where we had bogged down. It replaced Counterattack with some more allyies to soak attacks.

Paying for Combat Training, flipping to hero, playing Valkyrie and attacking a minion is a heckuva way to start Zola. So is drawing Hall of Heroes.

Campaign Specifics

  • Basic Attack Upgrade
  • White Tiger
  • Adrenal Stims
  • Martial Law obligation -- landed a Gamma Slam on Crossbones and suffered the rest of the time. If you were gonna draw one, though, this might be it!
