Intro
I think I differ from most Marvel Champions players in that I prefer single-deck versatility rather than multi-deck variability. In other words, I like making decks where you have to change very little (or nothing) depending on the scenario as opposed to heroes who have a wide variety of deck builds (not that they're mutually exclusive).
I present to you, Pick Four! The idea behind this deck is very simple: take advantage of as many basic cards as possible and have a few (in this case, 4) slots left to adapt the deck to whatever is needed. For those that don't know, Ironheart's general gameplan is to acquire "progress" counters, level up, and outscale the villain. These decks don't deviate from that plan.
Basic Cards:
Nick Fury, Moon Girl, Avengers Mansion: card draw = win game
Champions Mobile Bunker: card cycling = more options = win game
Assess the Situation: One "weakness" of Ironheart's is that her cost curve is quite high. I often find myself having just 1 extra card so making sure that doesn't go to waste feels quite nice.
Face the Past: I genuinely think Ironheart makes the best use of Face the Past. Photon Beam deals 4 damage and guess how much hp Lucia von Bardas has? 4!!! This is a fantastic boost to Ironheart's early-game power and can get her to version 3 that much quicker!
"Go for Champions!": I mean... this card got errata'd for a reason. Turns out, giving invincibility to up to 4 characters (Ironheart, Brawn, Moon Girl, and Vivian) for a round is quite strong! Even if it's only once per game now.
First Aid: I often find myself not wanting to flip to alter-ego once I've reached version 3 and this is the only option for hero-side healing.
Helicarrier, Ingenuity, and Soaring Acrobatics are just generally good cards - extra resources and a versatile stat boost.
Vivian: Basic, champion traited, and provides unique utility. Yes.
Professor X: Honestly, I'm still iffy on this one. The point of the deck is to change very few cards between scenarios and, while he's good, he provides very little value against stalwart villains. Still good, though, so until I find a suitable replacement, he's staying.
Build Support: This deck includes some fantastic supports.
Needless to say, The Power in All of Us helps sponsor all of these basic cards.
Pick Four! (Aspect Cards):
Aggression: Hall of Heroes, 3x Skilled Strike
Justice: 3x One Way or Another, Skilled Investigator
Protection: 3x Ever Vigilant, The Night Nurse, Render Medical Aid. Remove First Aid.
Leadership: Maria Hill, Beast, 2x Regroup
Pool: Add Self Confidence, Self Control, Self Preservation, Cutupper, Get in Front of Me!, Not my Responsibility, and Tic-Tac-Toe. Remove Strength, Energy, and First Aid.
Other Notes:
Admittedly, I've never played the aggression and protection versions of this deck. I simply chose what cards I think would be best from those aspects.
I can assure you that the leadership, pool, and justice versions are strong and feel good to paly!
this is a super cool idea. i love that it's got a strong core and is malleable to aspect needs.
