Ms. Marvel Thwarts for All

I have been looking for a justice build that scales well for 3-4 players. With so many decks built for 1-2 players, I found that they simply don't scale at the higher player counts and can't keep up with threat. That's when I rediscovered how amazing Ms. Marvel can be.

Threat, what threat?

Shrink makes the 15 thwarting events in this deck so much stronger. You will be using Shrink almost every turn with this build. If you don't have a target for thwarting, throw down One Way or Another, then clear the threat from the scheme of your choice. Pay attention to the schemes that have come into play as this card can only draw from the encounter deck, not the discard pile. This is where Spider-Man really shines. Play One Way or Another, then have Spider-Man come in and clean up all the threat in a single go as most side schemes don't have much more than 3 threat per player. With 3x Skilled Investigator, you will be helping your teammates draw new cards on a fairly regular basis.

Always ready with Spider-Man on call.

Part of what makes Ms. Marvel so great is her ability to store and recycle good cards. Use Bruno Carrelli to keep Spider-Man ready to go. You can use Bruno to store up a couple of your double resource cards to pay for Spider-Man. Don't worry about having your double resources bound up with Bruno, this deck really focuses on a low cost curve. If you absolutely need those resources now, don't be afraid to pull them and use them.

Use Aamir Khan and Vigilante Training to recycle the cards you need the most. Aamir is great for bringing back Spider-Man if you already used him and Vigilante Training can bring back any Justice event, of which you have 12.

Alter Ego Strength

Ms. Marvel really shines when going into AE. With your ability to manage threat so we'll, you should be flipping every turn. Teen Spirit allows you to pull a Ms. Marvel card each time. Plan on using this a lot to get her supports and upgrades out quickly. All three of her persona supports really shine along with Vigilante Training. Use Quake to help get rid of minions while in AE. Use Kamala's high recovery of 5, then jump back into hero form and ready using Ready to Rumble.

Mulligan Strategy

The most important card for this build is Shrink. If you don't get it, use Teen Spirit to dig through your deck for it. As a strong Justice build, you can last a couple more rounds in AE if needed.

Otherwise, go for Biokinetic Polymer Suit, Sense of Justice, and Kamala's persona supports.

Alterations for Solo

Drop: -2x Skilled Investigators -2x Crisis Averted

Add: +2x Turn the Tide +2x Impede

Possibly trade one of the Multitasking for another Clear the Area.

Turn the Tide is a very strong card, especially for Ms. Marvel with Embiggen!. I would include it in a 1-2 player game, but not in 3-4. If you're playing Justice in a large team, then you really should specialize in keeping the threat down and let the Aggression and Leadership characters throw out the damage.

Another swap I made while playing a two-handed Mad Titan's Shadow campaign with a Drax Aggression deck was trading One Way or Another for For Justice! because I didn't want to bring out other side schemes for some of those villains.

But where's the confuse?

At this point some of you have noticed the distinct lack of any confuse cards. This was intentional for two reasons:

  1. Ms. Marvel can handle threat so much it doesn't matter.
  2. With Expert II and Mad Titan's Shadow, more villains have Stalwart. (My friends loves playing as hard of scenarios as possible.)

Feel free to put in some confuses if you want.

Have fun and enjoy!

Love the look of this deck, I've just had Sinister Motives delivered and am going to be playing through with Spider-Man (Peter Parker) in aggression and Ms. Marvel in justice and have been looking for good Ms. Marvel decks that utilise all the newer cards. What ally would you recommend to replace Spider-Man in this deck if you had to?

@MMetzner Thanks for checking it out! I haven't looked at the Sinister Motive cards yet, so I'm not sure what will work best, but you can surely use this build as a base. There are a lot of good Justice allies you could use instead of Spider-Man. I think Quasar or Jessica Jones fit the theme of this build best.
