This is for The Winning Hand's Episode 77: Toe to Toe.

Toe to Toe is strong against minions. It can also be fun to combo with stuns or toughs so we don't actually take any damage from using it. But this deck is about using it against the villain and taking the damage. There are lots of heroes who might make this work (big HP pools, immortals) but I'm going to swing with our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

Aunt May is the key to making this work. She's easy to play and once on board, Peter can heal for 8 every time he flips down. So Spider-Man can let the villain hit him during the hero phase and then flip down and heal right back up. And don't forget to draw your extra card when the villain attacks you (there is no limit), so Toe to Toe pays for itself. Endurance is here for a little extra breathing room. The pattern here is to defend in the villain phase so you can take damage from Toe to Toe in the hero phase.

If handy, Backflip can save you from having to take any damage, but with Aunt May on board, we might as well take damage if we can benefit from it. Responding with a Counterattack on top of Toe to Toe can make for some nice cheap burst damage. And making sure the villain pays for that can make it safer to go alter-ego.

The minor theme to this symphony of pain is the Boot Camp - Black Cat combo. (I'm sure you've seen it before, but I still like it.) Hulk is the only meat-shield ally here, all the others can do solid damage, especially with Boot Camp in play. And Peter has no problem with economy to pay for these allies. Web-Shooters can help bring the for Thor and Wasp. Angela synergizes nicely with Spider-Tracers and Into the Fray for some thwart potential.

Plan of Attack is here because if we can draw Swinging Web Kick sooner rather than later, let's give it a shot. It also is a set of our 17 cards we hope to hit when we play Black Cat. If you already have an attack event in hand, it's probably not worth playing, but if you don't, odds are one is coming up. Assault Training gives us more benefit from flipping down to heal so we can increase the Toe to Toe shenanigans.

Awesome stuff! I think Peter has some really great synergy with Toe to Toe, thanks for sharing!
