Spider-Man's ability to draw cards on villain initiations is still one of the best value abilities in the game due to its consistency and the overall power of card draw in..... CARD games?!
This theory deck is leaning into that ability to get value out of villain attacks as well as insulating spider man against most of what the encounter deck has to offer.
Some Synergies to play with
Thwip Thwip! into Taunt into Bait and Switch is a really satisfying turn that only requires one exhaust(if you want to block). If you draw into What doesn't kill me, you can heal up and use your basic on top of it. I think this deck wants an Electrostatic Armor to ding more value out of it, but I leaned into a different synergy to deal damage.
That Synergy is Spider-Tingle into Return the Favor. Some scenarios could even add Spider-Man Noir into this but most of the time you are cancelling the whole card, but a man can dream.
Deck is filled with What Doesn't Kill Me and Med Team along with Aunt May to mitigate those nasty activations that get through your Backflip and twhip antics.
Unfortunately, ya gotta play Warrior of the Great Web but you can drop extra copies on basic miles and black cat. Some people I've played with use a house rule where Peter starts with it because "come on" but sometimes ya gotta play the game right lol.
Haven't decided the splits for this and dropped cards to make this more efficient but I had a blast at 50 cards so I figured I'd post it as a framework.
Ideal Turn: Assuming We have a Web-Shooter from earlier
6 Hand Size Alter Ego, spend Mental Resource from parker to Drop Tingle(might have it down already). Flip Up.
Ping damage from SM, twhip villain and maybe a minion for stuns. Down to 3 cards Taunt with Web-Shooter. 5 cards. Attack Cancelled by stun. Bait and switch. Exhaust to defend. 4 cards(SM ability after B&S activation). Return the favor, ping damage form SM, 5 damage to villain, no treachery hits table. 3 Cards. Drop What doesn't kill me, ready up, heal the pinged damage(might need to save web-shooter for here for phys resource). Attack with basic.
7 Damage, 4 Threat off Main Scheme. 10 Cards Sifted.
