Welcome to the end of 2024, and as we settle into the holidays, I wish everyone a Blue Christmas. If you like this deck, you may also like my other content. Please check out Winning Hand!
This deck has been tested a lot, and it has been a ton of fun. This deck isn't particularly hard to pilot, but it really comes down to three big things: energy, money, and health.
Energy
I have finally been able to get in two allies that I think were always made for Thor but didn't quite work due to the high cost: Vision and Beta Ray Bill. Vision works with all the energy resources you will be generating, boosting his stats, and Beta Ray Bill is just a really solid ally that can help do what Thor wants--clear minions and thwart. The high number of energy resources also works with Captain Marvel to trigger her ability to do damage and likely stun an enemy. And you're also left with a really strong ally after the enter play effect. Energy also helps with Kid Omega and Sunspot when they enter play. Awesome!
Money
How can Thor, a hero with a smaller handsize, afford all of this? Easy. One of the best cards to come out for him in recent times, Squared Off, finally makes him not just viable in Leadership, but really strong. Quincarrier helps us pay for anything, and Beast can fish out even more money! Team-Building Exercise helps us pay for a lot of upgrades with the Asgard trait, and most of our allies. If you play Hammer Throw and run out of resources to play Mjolnir back out, Team-Building Exercise can help you get it back out. Neat!
Health
Thor has a lot of health to start with, and he even gets more with Thor's Helmet. So let's use it. Tank hits when you can, and use Noble Sacrifice to get some of it back and add tough cards to tank more hits. But also, let's generate resources with Clarity of Purpose to pay for even more stuff. How great is that?
Other Thoughts
The Bifrost helps us get Beta Ray Bill and Lady Sif back faster, and they are awesome allies (especially Bill). There are so any great allies in this deck to build the synergy, and they aren't all expensive: White Tiger draws cards, Stinger can block an attack, Hawkeye helps soften up minions, and Kaluu fishes for events...and they are all energy resources that can be used to trigger Captain Marvel's enter play or Vision's ability. Or pay for Lightning Strike!
Note: I will link a deck from InigoMontoya, who did a different take on Leadership Thor, once their deck is published.
Update: Here is the deck from InigoMontoya - Discounts at the Thrift Thor
I love that people can take the same aspect and hero, and even the same card (Squared Off) and come up with different interpretations for a deck. It's a deck worth checking out for sure!

Dec 06, 2024Thors power has really gone up with Squared Off and Come Get Me Bub. I think Blue Thor is probably his best aspect now by a lot. I can actually play him solo now as well! |

Dec 06, 2024i don't think i realize how much Noble Sacrifice is huge for Thor so you don't have to feel the need to defend. this is a really cool leadership suite for Thor. |
Dec 06, 2024This deck looks so fun! Thor is due for a revisit and I'll be trying this one when I move to leadership with him! |
Dec 06, 2024Love Noble Sacrifice! Great job on this and it was fun to coordinate. Coincidences can be a blast! Thanks for saying something and linking! |

Dec 07, 2024Noble Sacrifice was my favorite card in the Magneto pack! I'll have to give this a try. |

Dec 09, 2024Needs a Face the Past. Getting a full turn worth of stuff (5 cards and a ready) is definitely worth facing down Loki. Include Vivian to blank his ability if you're really worried about defeating him. Otherwise, great deck! |

Dec 10, 2024Can you imagine 2 years ago if someone said that Thor would shine in leadership someday? I would have thought they were joking. I can't wait to try this out, might add Face the Past and Build Support. |

Dec 10, 2024And now that you found an amazing use for the Vision ally, you get to be the King of Vision. |

Dec 13, 2024Very nice! I figured those new Magneto blue cards would be perfect for Thor, but I really love the clarity of purpose + noble sacrifice combo you added! Looks like this deck wouldnt take too much damage, so CoP is a great way to use those hit points as resources! |

Jan 13, 2025I am missing most of the allies, Command Team, and Clarity of Purpose…can I still make such an effective deck using substitutions. I have Thor, Magneto, Core Box, most of wave one and a few other packs…any suggestions? |

Without knowing which other packs you have its hard to say, but other subs to consider would be Helicarrier, Avengers Mansion and, personally, I love Face the Past with every Thor deck. |
Feb 15, 2025There is so much synergy in this deck. Never thought I would dare playing Thor in blue and here it is. Any other heroes with a revisited mindset reguarding their often thought “bad” aspect you have in stock ? I really like this type of deck building. Revisiting old heroes with new cards. Wish it could be the same for ol’ Hulk. Non the less off to a week end of campaigns with Thor ! |
