This is a pretty narrow card but has some specific uses. At face value, getting a tough status is about neutral with discarding an ally (who could otherwise block an attack for you). Cancelling those out, we get probably 2-4 points of healing for 2 ER...not super exciting. The way to mitigate the downside of discarding an ally is if the ally couldn't stick around to block for you anyway. This could be because you got it off "To Me, My X-Men!" or Sneak Attack, for example. Grant Ward is an ally who is strong the turn you play him, but you actively want to get him off the board before the villain phase (and he can't block). Noble Sacrifice can also be tech against any ally-punishing scenario such as Unus or whenever the villain has overkill. Occasional access to tough statuses goes a long way in those scenarios. Lastly, Drax is a hero who wants the villain attacking him, not an ally, so the downside of Noble Sacrifice is mitigated and the effect is highly useful. By no means is this card a staple, but it provides a uniquely powerful effect for several specific situations.
