Key Concepts
-
Utilise Soup Kitchen to play and reduce costs of supports and allies;
-
Prioritise ATK for Falcon's basic action > use thwart cards for threat removal > trigger Justice Served to ready > ATK again;
Recommended
-
Mulligan for Soup Kitchen but it's not essential to get first turn;
-
Play Justice Served as soon as you can, but it doesn't have to be early in the game;
-
Don't be afraid to play Talon Line to use immediately (to ready);
-
I don't placve any priority in Draw Their Fire. Unless you are in mulitplayer or have a heavy minion scenario, I'd use this mostly as a resource

DESIGN
I've stacked the Supports with useful cards which can really make things easier for Falcon by way of cost reduction.
The beauty of Falcon is that you can really manipulate the encounter card and boost icons, so there should never be any trepidation in flipping down to alter-ego.
Down Time has been paired with Soup Kitchen in this deck, to ensure you REC for a decent amount when you also use Soup Kitchen. I initially remember thinking, "...why does it say exhaust to recover...you do that anyway..." but in hindsight, it is a useful action, as there are some supports put there that ask you to exhaust to trigger the action - meaning you can't recover on that turn. Like any hearty bowl of stew, Soup Kitchen replensihes Sam but also aids him in gaining assistance from the community.
Avengers Mansion, Helicarrier, Avengers Tower and Team-Building Exercise all assist in paying costs down the line, so any one of these played early, can quickly snowball cost reduction every time you flip down and have one of these cards in your hand.
The Raft helps with keeping minions detained. Being a Justice deck, Falcon doesn't have much by way of dealing with multiple minions (i.e he's only got allies, and limited readies) so taking them away from play ensures you don't get overwhelmed with them.
Mentioned earlier, I have added 3 x copies of Justice Served. It's not TOTALLY priority, but the fact that there are 3 x copies ensures that you will be seeing this card a few times during the game. With such a low cost, just play a copy down and keep it in the back pocket, until you can set yourself up to use it to ready. Use it if you can to base attack twice...and even bettwe if you have Battlefield Awareness on the table too.
I've also gone from an even spread of threat removal with the chosen thwart cards. I found if I packed 3 x copies of two types (i.e Yaw and Roll and Agile Flight) then during the game, I'd be met with awkward cards in the hand that either thwart too much or not enough. Adding For Justice! evens things out, and so there are effectively eight thwart cards in the deck. You may end up never needing to use Yaw and Roll or Agile Flight, but there is enough there to manage multiple schemes allowing you to focus on attacking with your basic action.
All the allies chosen are Avengers traited as well. Rather than go down the S.H.I.E.L.D route with Falcon, utilising the Avengers trait is relatively easier so the likes of Avengers Tower and Team-Building Exercise can be used to further reduce their costs (on top of Soup Kitchen!. Helicarrier was chosen over Quincarrier solely on the off-chance that you use Soup Kitchen and don't flip up to hero during the phase. If you don't, you can't play Quincarrier whilst in alter-ego. A small difference, so feel free to choose the support of your choice between these two.
KEY CONCEPTS
As mentioned, the key concept is to use Soup Kitchen as well as I can in this aspect, so there are plenty of supports, but also the opportunity to include some expensive allies.
Speed is a great ally who can thwart alot, so I've inlcuded him in alongside his brother Wiccan. For someone like Falcon, who can see the top card of the encounter deck, you no longer have to feel that Wiccan is 'whiffin'...!
Spider-Man is also expensive, but once played, he's very strong. Eitehr have him remove threat off Superpower Training r some other side scheme, and Spidey can also contribute to the attack.
Yellowjacket isn't too expensive - Manifold too - but he also is good to hunt out a copy of Justice Served
RECOMMENDED
Falcon's hero upgrades are varied and useful in varying scenarios. I play Aerial Evacuation and Aerial Recon frequently, as well as Battlefield Awareness as previously mentioned.
I've learned to not shy away from Talon Line and use it freely rather than leave it on the table and wait from 'a moment' that it's drastically needed.
I've mentioned Draw Their Fire and for this deck, Vibranium Microweave isn't a priority either. With Down Time and you wanting to use Soup Kitchen where you can, more often that not it's totally fime to eat an attack...or chump block...or use Aerial Evacuation.
As long as you use Soup Kitchen to build out your supports quickly, then the rest of the game will purr....or in this instance...soar like an eagle...!
