This deck is all about big money. Clarity of Purpose doubles down on Venom's hero ability and makes paying for the kickers on Behind Enemy Lines, Grasping Tendrils, and Savage Attack trivial, but it does put a good amount of strain on your life total. Good thing we're a big money leadership deck that can afford to throw allies in front of the villain's attacks for the rest of forever! "Welcome Aboard" will even discount them for you!

Actively sacrificing your life total like this means you will have to turn down to Alter-Ego from time-to-time, but that's a-okay. Professor X and Behind Enemy Lines confuse the villain to give you cover, Mission Leader gets a discount in Alter-Ego, and Project Rebirth 2.0 gives you extra heals or a card.

Blaze of Glory is a cheeky little one-of that can be used either as a desperation turbo thwart or a game-ending haymaker.

The rest of the deck all give you cards or resources to let you do whatever you want. Even with some expensive cards in the deck, you should always be playing multiple cards per turn.

Nice deck. I'm building a similar one and I like some of o your ideas. Probably a bit overkill, but having Both Clarity of Purpose and Venom's ability itself, I found that additional hitpoints from Endurance are always great.

In your case, having Mission Leader, probably Front Line Specialist from Specialized Training would be even better. Have you tried them ?

@wehehe I had Endurance in during testing and found that I just didn't need it very often. I did end up taking a lot of damage, but almost all of it was controlled damage dealt myself. Most of the attacks ended up directed at my allies.

If I wanted to tech against a scenario that had a lot of overkill or other ally-hate, I could definitely see bulking up my health, though.

Specialized Training is definitely a good card, especially alongside Mission Leader, but as noted above, I didn't end up taking many attacks or feeling all that endangered by low life totals. If I did run Specialized Training, I probably wouldn't pick Front Line Specialist because of that.

That said, I do play two players almost exclusively, so it would probably be a pretty good card to include anyway.

That said, I didn't run the deck through Expert Venom Goblin and Ronan and Magneto, like some folks will do. It excelled in the games I ran against Expert Rhino, Klaw, Ultron, and Sandman, but I could definitely see wanting more life against the nastier villains this game has to offer.

Probably the point is the villains to test it against. I use to test decks which I find powerful enough against Expert Magneto. With Venom, which is one of my favourite heroes in the game, I want to build a powerful deck, so I'm tweaking it be able to be solvent against hard villains, and Magneto is quite a hard hitter, that's why I'm needing more HP.

Anyway, every player has his own playstile, and what it looks good for one may be weak for another, and I have so many quirks in my decks,

Another card which completely changed my mind recently is Major Victory. I used to found it a mediocre ally, but recently I tried it in a deck with Blaze of Glory and Rapid Response, and man, it is crazy... Have you tested here? Extra readies in Blaze of Glory turns are so great.

I'm loving to see that leadership decks for Venom, they are a ton of fun to play !

The only time I play True Solo is just to get some quick testing on a deck. The vast majority of my playtime is 2 player with my wife, so most of the testing for this deck was just because I felt like getting some games in between our games.

I have not really given Major Victory a shot. He was a chronic underperformer the first few times I played with him, but I could definitely see that just be a mixture of me not playing him in the right deck and not playing him well.

He doesn't do what this deck really wants from its allies (chump block to protect my precious HP), but a cheap ready with some attack/thwart attached may just be worth the cost of admission. He definitely gets better with Knowhere and Blaze of Glory in the deck as well...
