This deck is all about Peter Parker Spider-Man!
GAMEPLAY VERSUS RONAN THE ACCUSER STANDARD 2/EXPERT 2 & INFINITY GAUNTLET
For the cheat code and easy guide to defeating expert 1 Ronan without taking damage, check out the short 30 minute gameplay here.
Spider-Man has a powerful response that scales with multiplayer. He removes threat from a side scheme equal to 3 times the amount of players when played from the hand. I overlooked this card because of the condition that a side scheme must be in play, but with the introduction of player side schemes, Spider-Man will now always be useful. In addition, the standard player side scheme like Build Support or Superpower Training also have threat equal to 3 times the amount of players. This is a match made in heaven for Spider-Man. If we target Build Support with Cable's Soldier X setup ability in a game with 4 players, it comes out with 12 threat. If you have Spider-Man in your hand turn 1, he clears off that 12 threat immediately when entering play! Even though this deck was built primarily for multiplayer, player side schemes are so strong with Cable that it makes Spider-Man amazing in true solo as well.
How This Deck Plays
I always prioritize Build Support -> Graymalkin with Cable's setup ability. If Build Support is in hand, then I target Call for Backup -> Nick Fury. Exhaust Graymalkin to generate a resource as often as you can because it readies up every time a side scheme is defeated. Prioritize keeping threat down and hit the villain with any extra damage. That's it. Cable is so ridiculously powerful that this gameplan works for true solo and multiplayer.
Combos
-
Tutoring Allies - Chance Encounter grabs an ally from your deck/discard to your hand when a side scheme is defeated. Use it to get the ally you need most for your current situation. I like to to recur Nick Fury or target Spider-Man. It's not uncommon to play Nick Fury for 4 rounds straight (combined with Call for Backup) and essentially have him out every turn. I've played a 3 player game where Spider-Man is played from the hand 3 times removing 27 threat throughout the course of the game. Cable has the economy for this with Graymalkin, Skilled Investigator, and the resource cards in this deck.
-
Scrying/Looking at the Encounter Deck - Blindfold and Precognition give Cable 2 ways to manipulate the encounter deck and flip down if necessary. If needed, Chance Encounter can tutor Blindfold straight to your hand for extra peeks at the encounter deck.

Feb 23, 2024Brilliant as always! Love Peter Parker, but don't use him much because he's so expensive. Great to see a deck where he can be consistently played. Can't wait to try this out. |

Feb 24, 2024Great deck, Web! I love your videos too. What are your thoughts on Sharpshooter for Cable? It bumps his Plasma Rifle to 5 damage per turn. Not a huge gain, but it can pick off a lot of nemesis minions and other elite minions throughout the game. |

I’m not the biggest fan of Sharpshooter for Cable. I find Cable plays very systematically, and I usually track how many copies of Mind Scan/Telekinetic Blast are left in the deck so I would be wary of milling. That being said, I think it could definitely work and the payoff is noticeable like you said. That 1 damage makes a difference and 5 damage every turn is really strong. That’s a really cool combo with his Plasma Rifle forsure |
Feb 26, 20241st off: Yay! Someone claiming a MPer deck tag with multiple Skilled Investigator in a Justice deck! Though personally I'd call MPer 3-4 (in which case you could go for 3 copies). I've come to enjoy Agent Coulson & Spycraft (or 2) in my Justice Cable. Some of his Nemesis treacheries are just plain "Deadly", especially so in MPer (Telekinetic Blast), so preventing them coming in/resolving is very handy. You are already running Nick Fury as a spy which can make them playable, but Agent Coulson will actually search (deck & discard) for one (which "could" just be a refunded ER if desperate). Telekinetic Blast is not indirect and not an attack, so you can't use allies to block it AND it hits whomever even in AE! I find Render Medical Aid more beneficial than Establish Perimeter. I typically plan to basic defend using Askani'son and clear a SS previously setup for such (both you & Graymalkin will straighten making this action FREE!!!) & minimize damage at the same time. Use Bodyslide for a "quick nap" on bad days. Using this strategy, I find Symbiote Suit an okay pain card, as I was planning on using stats 4 times/round regularly. With Lock and Load, you might try and find space for Psimitar. You have 9 other Psionic cards after all. It can still be played & used even when you are not psi-powered-up. |

Even though this deck was built primarily with multiplayer in mind, I’m a little too selfish to include a third copy of Skilled Investigator haha. For more generous players, I would recommend increasing the deck size to 41 to include that 3rd copy of Skilled Investigator (I originally had 3 but needed to cut down to 40 and can’t justify it over any other card). Agent Coulson + Spycraft is one of my favorite combos and it’s definitely strong with justice Cable. I was short on deck space and decided to opt against it to include an extra ally over Spycraft to increase the chance of getting extra thwarting turn 1. And I’m not the biggest fan of Spycraft in multiplayer because it can only cancel cards the owner reveals. Definitely see the case for Render Medical Aid over Establish Perimeter based on playstyle preference. Really good point with Psimitar to have another target for Lock and Load. My only target with it is Plasma Rifle but the rifle is good enough to justify having multiple side schemes to grab it asap. I’m also not the biggest fan of Psimitar for Cable because his damage is insane, but more damage definitely can’t hurt. Thanks for the feedback! I think all your inclusions are really good, that was just my reasoning for not using those cards but it’s definitely interchangeable depending on playstyle. |
Mar 02, 2024I some how missed the video, and am really glad your posts are popular enough to pop up on the main feed! I can't wait to see you yet again out your money where your mouth is! |

I think my favorite matchup so far was Hela; adds a fun dynamic when side schemes in the victory display are buffing both you and the villain. |
Mar 08, 2024Yeah, I can see Spycraft less useful for the general stoppage of encounter cards in MPer (and generally didn't bother with it), but with Cable in MPer, we find getting 6+ PSS (inc. any villain SS {Hella} etc) is easy - all of us are pretty much running Build Support & often another and cable really likes clearing them into the victory display. Main goal of Spycraft is to prevent Telekinetic Blast from "entering the game" (via Shadow of the Past etc) not for preventing regular treacheries resolving. As I said, once Telekinetic Blast is in the game, it has potential to straight up kill the healthy even in AE with no built-in opt out. If you got multiple Spycraft on the table, you can use the extras to guard your own general reveals... :) but I always kept 1 for prime purpose. Sure, you are paying 2ER for something that may/may not ever happen (you get Shadow of the Past), but it is safeguarding vs a loss. Heck, some Heroes, we welcome getting Shadow of the Past, as they may weaken the villain deck. But NOT Cable! LOL |

Aug 31, 2024I am enjoying this deck immensely. Who would you recommend pairing him up with to complement his style? |
Aug 31, 2024
I love pairing Cable with heroes who are really strong when they get a specific upgrade/support out (because Cable can help them grab it with his player side schemes). Cyclops goes wild with a guaranteed turn 1 Uncanny X-Men and Spider-Man can sneak in the Web of Life of Destiny. Other than that i like playing as a support to help lower economy heroes like Hulk or She-Hulk get their resource generators out |
I’ve been falling in love with Chance Encounter. I love the use of Spider-Man with it and player side schemes! Great combos.
