Psy Spy with My Little Eye

A sneaky psionic hero surrounded by spies and other psionics

With Spies' and Psionics' powers combined we have created the ultimate control deck

name

And there are so many trap cards Psylocke can activate here:

  • Psychic Manipulation – Our pièce de résistance of "NO U". It can really remove a lot of threat, and you can use Blindfold to help set this up. Usable from AE, and also a great AE ability target to shuffle back in as it has the Psionic trait
  • Counterintelligence – Remove 3 threat being placed AND a skill? Yes please!
  • Spycraft - Can help you avoid nasty encounter cards, Psylocke's obligation being a really good thing to avoid. Also a Skill!
  • Espionage - HAHAHAHAHA YOU FOOL! I love surge! Also a Skill!

Psionics:

Then of course we have the Psionics. We can bring back Professor for a choice Confuse or what I have found to be great in Multiplayer is to Stun a minion, because we don't actually want to confuse the villain that much! Previously mentioned Blindfold can help us get a better control on what the villain phase will look like and help tee up Psychic Manipulation.

Spies:

Agent Coulson helps get us one of the aforementioned preps, ideally Espionage or Spycraft since those require controlling a spy character, which Coulson happens to be. Mockingbird and Nick Fury are spies and just extremely solid so they are super obvious fits for this deck. They have been around since the core set and you have tons of copies, get them in here!

Always Be Controlling

Should be pretty apparent up to this point just how good at control this deck and Psylocke can be, but that doesn't mean just camp in AE and hope for the best. Sometimes the best way to control the scenario is to flip to hero and use some Flurry of Blades or Mental Detection or a card that is all about control Telepathic Suggestion. But also don't spend all game in hero form and miss out on those opportunities to use Cerebro or shuffle back in and use Psychic Manipulation. The idea here is even from Alter Ego you are ending the villain phase with less threat than was on the main initially, and then still be able to make an impact during the player phase.

Lastly just wanted to highlight two other standout cards. Sense of Justice is awesome because it helps us pay for Psychic Manipulation from alter ego and is also a skill. Skills are important and I keep mentioning it because Training Regimen finds us a Skill and adds it to our hand, so this deck is chocked full of options for it to find and all are useful.

Please let me know how it goes! What would you change? How did it play solo vs Multiplayer? Would love to know how it played for you. I have had a ton of fun with it and I hope you do as well.

Multiplayer – Taste the Xforce-bow

I linked this deck to other decks I created as I feel it really rounds out and compliments those decks well. They are:

Good stuff! I'll definitely be trying it out. Did you try out any version of the build with Directed Force?

Nov 03, 2023 Man-is-Obsolete · 3842

@corbintm I did not, may be worth a shot but I like the deck thinning of the cards I have chosen and they are more purpose built for controlling. If you find damage output is lacking it may be a good include, especially as a skill for Training Regimen to grab before flipping up.

Great deck! I introduced psylocke to my friend juggernaut and I'm sad to say he is no more

Ran through RoRS expert campaign with this tonight, and it was an absolute breeze! She's crazy good solo

My initial reaction was that Sense of Justice isn't really needed due to the relatively small number of thwart events, but you make good points as to why it makes sense in this deck

@josseroo thanks! I almost forgot to mention Sense of Justice but it originally wasn’t in the deck but became very important for paying for Psychic Manipulation.

BUT WHAT DOES POT OF GREED DO???

Nov 06, 2023 Man-is-Obsolete · 3842

@dr00 it’s a magic Espionage item that lets me draw two cards!

I'm new to deck building, whats the reasoning behind not including Power of Justice? It works with 11/40 cards. Is it because Psylocke starts with 2 resource generators on the table?

Mar 24, 2024 Man-is-Obsolete · 3842

@CANAS1AN it is mainly because The Power of the Mind has 15 targets in the deck and those targets can be put back into the deck with her AE ability.
