Vision is one of the most versatile heroes in the game, and one that most people out there are sleeping on. He has become one of my favorite heroes in the game, and anyone who listens to my podcast will know…I play a lot of Vision.

He can be quirky with his form-changing…and his inability to attack in one of those forms. Some people (you know who you are) think he’s boring! He may not be flashy, but he has an answer for every situation. True, his excellent defense card can be hard to play. And his cape is the weakest of his cards, though it’s not terrible by any means.

Still, he has 2 in each stat (essentially), has card draw built in when he switches forms, has access to some excellent Android support…Reboot is great, and he can recur some great allies with 616 Hickory Branch Lane: Vivian is one of the best allies in the game, Victor Mancha can defend, and Machine Man can help thwart/attack. He has a built-in resource generator with Solar Gem, and since he’s a Avenger, he can use Quincarrier for more resources.

Villain has a tough card? Superdense Strike adds piercing.

Crisis icons got you down? Ignore them with Just Passing Through.

Oh, and Phase Disruption is really cool and comes in handy more than you’d think.

Overall, Vision is all about versatility: most of his cards can do what you need depending on how you choose to use your mass form. Vivian has a beefy 3 ATK/THE stat depending on your form, Vision's Cape makes status cards irrelevant, and Solar Beam can thwart or attack. Whatever you need, Vision has an answer.

“But,” I can hear you asking, ”if he can’t defend in one of his forms, is Protection really his best aspect?”

That’s a great question, and I’m glad you asked.

This deck leans into that versatility by using the Repurpose archetype. Use it to add damage or remove threat—whatever you need when the time comes. In the meantime, Forcefield Generator and Energy Barrier will keep you safe (on top of your Intangible form negating the first two damage you take).

Earth's Mightiest Heroes can add extra readies when you play Repurpose, or if you want to use your basic activation again, or recover and still be able to use your basic ATK/THW. Vision’s cards are so good you’ll want to see them more often, which Density Control can help with. And 11 of Vision’s 15 cards have the superpower trait, so Deft Focus can help you pay for them all.

I mentioned earlier that his defense card can be tricky to time, but luckily Jocasta can help us save it for when we need it.

I hope you have a great time with this deck. It works in solo play, but is also great to help the table in a multiplayer game.

Great build, super efficient use of deck space. Vision is so consistent I can see the slight unreliability of Repurpose being largely offset here - and it combos so well with Reboot!

@VillainTheory Thank you! I agree that his consistency helps with the Repurpose build. And his ability to negate the first two points of damage helps Forcefield Generator stay around longer…which can often be an issue with Repurpose builds.

After playing this deck a bunch, I’d consider adding in Civic Duty and Adrenaline Rush. Since they are upgrades you can play them out to thin your deck to increase your odds of drawing what you want, and then you can trigger them for a big turn when you have Repurpose, Reboot, or Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in hand. You could also consider adding in Ever Vigilant for even more thwarting and readying if you need it. I found that the other cards gave me so many readies that was enough. But maybe a copy of Ready to Rumble would work too!
