This is a flexible, janky chump-block focused deck that aims to lay out a large front line of Avenger allies and bounce them back to hand with Regroup, with the intention of laying them all back out again the next turn.
We’re running this out of Black Widow as Winter Soldier is a great target for Regroup as you’ll likely be able to lay him out again the following turn for free or next-to free.
Early game, you’ll be looking to get some resource generators down- Black Widow's Gauntlet, Avengers Tower, Team-Building Exercise or a Quinjet are all great for set-up. Getting some preps down- particularly Espionage is also really sound.
Don’t be afraid to drop an early Covert Ops if you need some extra set-up time in AE.
In terms of allies, we’re Avengers tribal here to make full use of TBE and Avengers Tower, both of which are amazing for a post-Regroup layout of allies. Quinjet will help you drop Falcon or Goliath a lot easier and Rapid Response will help return those expensive allies directly to the board (though it’s worth remembering that if Goliath is discarded due to his action effect it won’t trigger this preparation, so go for a neat KO from consequential damage for max efficiency).
Black Knight is probably a flex slot in this deck, I find his ability useful more often than not. I think the Black Panther ally from War Machine will live in this slot in future. You might prefer Wonder Man or U.S. Agent as they’d work well here also.
Get Ready will help you get max efficiency out of your allies before a Regroup play and works well with Goliath or a late game play of Lead from the Front. I tried to shoot the moon with Avengers Assemble! in the Lead from the Front slot but have never been able to play it successfully. I’ll be trying that again when Black Panther can pocket it from discard for the perfect moment.
I have had a lot of fun with this deck. It’s fairly technical and slow to get moving but so flexible and great in multiplayer where Regroup can help others at the table. Give it a go and let me know if you’ve enjoyed playing it.
