The Rambeau Rapid‑Draw Reactor

Wanna play with double your hand size (10+ cards)? Wanna cycle through your deck every few rounds? Then Suit Up, call White Tiger to join you on your mission, and don't be bothered when your allies scream "AVENGE ME!" as they're defeated. Cause that's what it takes to get the job done!

Main Strategy

The main strategy is to play Avenger allies which are powered up by Mighty Avengers. Your allies and your choice stat of 3 will bring you victory.

In the early turns, prioritize playing your economy cards: Energy Duplication, Quincarrier, Avengers Tower, Deft Focus. Avengers Tower is important because you will need the extra ally slot.

Once you've got your economy engine going, it's time to shift gears and to go all-in on the main combo:

  • Starting your turn in AE with 6 cards in hand, play Suit Up and pick White Tiger and Avenge Me! from amongst the deck and discard pile. I recommend that you choose a copy of Avenge Me! that is in your discard pile.
  • Flip to hero form and play White Tiger from your hand to draw 2-3 cards (in Expert mode). You'll be able to use your resource generators to pay for White Tiger, likely costing you zero cards from your hand. That's card profit!
  • Play Avenge Me! on an ally that is going to die this turn (most likely from consequential damage). Or attach it to White Tiger herself since she'll likely be used to chump block the villain's attack during the villain phase, thereby allowing you to tutor her again from the discard with another copy of Suit Up. That nets you another 2 new cards.

As mentioned in the description above, this combo draws you 5 cards and can cost you as little as 0-1 card from your hand due to all the economy cards that can be in play to pay for your cards. And if you draw multiple copies of Suit Up and/or Avenge Me!, then that's MORE CARDS! Woot!

Piloting tips

Allies are a powerful card type in this game because they can handle the board state (i.e. deal damage and remove threat), as well as block a full villain's attack so that your hero doesn't suffer any damage.

You may be tempted to play different Avenger allies because they may have better stats than some of those listed in this deck. I have selected these allies because I want a lower cost curve so that I can play at least one ally during my turn, and either an upgrade/support to setup or an event card such as Gamma Blast or Photon Speed. Mighty Avengers gives +1 to your allies' ATK and THW stats, which goes a long way during the game.

I do have 2 expensive allies in this deck. They are both here because it's good to have 1-2 high-stated allies that will stay in play for multiple turns to handle the board state while you repeatedly play White Tiger and events. Especially with Iron Lad's ability to add either Captain America's 3 ATK/THW or Giant-Man's 6 ATK (base stats + Mighty Avengers)) to his own activation without incurring consequential damage on those expensive allies helps to gain further value from your investment into them.

If the board state demands more damage, don't hesitate to use Suit Up to tutor Giant-Man, especially if Iron Lad is in play or will be tutored next round.

Why choose Spectrum for this build?

I have played the shell of this deck with multiple heroes, and it's a powerful, versatile shell. You can definitely play it with many other heroes.

The main reason that I enjoy this deck even more with Spectrum is because of her two copies of Energy Duplication. Once you include multiple other resource generators, Spectrum is SO RICH that she can easily afford the Suit Up + White Tiger combo which costs 7ER.

Another reason is that Spectrum is a versatile hero that can deal damage as well as thwart, between her basic activations (which can be set to 3 in the desired energy form) and her kit events.

Special mention: Avenge Me!

I LOVE this card! Card draw is a powerful effect in a card game, and it feels good to see and play our favourite cards more often.

Currently, this is my favourite card that draws cards because:
A) it doesn't have any negative drawbacks.

  • Taunt requires you to take a villain attack.
  • One Way or Another requires you to put a side scheme into play.
  • Face the Past requires you to face your nemesis minion, and it gets shuffled discarded into the encounter deck where it can come back.

B) it costs 0R.

C) it's easy to trigger. Allies die all the time, either from consequential damage or from blocking an attack.

D) it feels good to trigger. Triggering Avenge Me! feels good because it happens after you’ve already made a positive play. Allies frequently die from consequential damage or by blocking, and both situations give you value—either dealing damage, removing threat, or protecting your hero. Since their sacrifice already benefits you, drawing two cards from Avenge Me! feels like an extra reward for an action that was already helping your board state.
