Falcon's Favor

I have absolutely struggled with playing Falcon from day one. I have won a few games bouncing Redwing over and over, but did not find that to be an interesting way to play the game. I am trying him in every aspect, and protection was next on my list. I saw that Ever Vigilant and What Doesn't Kill Me seemed to be working for him, but I could not find the right fit for my play style. I started to thumb through my protection cards and came across Return the Favor and Fighting Fit. That is when the ideas started to roll in, and I knew what I needed to do.
So What's the Plan?
Great question! This will take some time, but when the engine rolls, it rolls!
-
Focus on getting Vibranium Microweave, Battlefield Awareness, Armored Vest and Electrostatic Armor into play. These cards will make you an absolute tank against the villain and send that beautiful ping damage right back to them.
-
Use Ever Vigilant and What Doesn't Kill Me to ready yourself on the hero phase. Use your basic attack and thwart to keep the minions and main schemes cleared or at bay.
-
Keep an eye on what the top treachery card is when you see a treachery that is not so bad, use Return the Favor. This will minimize the impact of the treachery and make it feel so good to pay 0 for 5 damage, knowing what the consequences of your choices will be.
-
As your defensive wall stays built, Fighting Fit becomes more and more valuable. 2 resources for 5 damage is pretty great, especially knowing that you did the ping damage for defending the previous villain phase. Cards like What Doesn't Kill Me helps to ensure this card kicks off, even when you've taken damage from that annoying minion.
-
Playing with the encounter deck face up, Taunt is a ton of fun as well. You know what you can risk in being attacked. Which minimizes the worry if the three cards you are drawing are worth the risk or not.
-
Finally, Dauntless, Angel's Aerie, Northstar, and Unflappable are there to give you a little boost along the way. If you need to, use Hard Knocks to help clear a minion and gain a tough status card.
Conclusion
I had a ton of fun with this deck and would be hyped to play it again. I have considered adding another ally or two and maybe swapping out Hard Knocks with Powerful Punch. However, I am happy with where it landed.
What are y'all's thoughts? What changes might you make to the deck?
A Like and comment would be greatly appreciated!
What a cool way to play falcon! I always struggle with particular cards but that eye on the encounter deck is sweet!
