Greetings! I recently started listening to the Winning Hand podcast from the beginning and it sparked a simple deck idea. In the fabled 1st Episode, there is discussion about if Swinging Web Kick being Aerial would ever matter. And typically, it doesn't.
But what if it did?
Swinging High
This deck contains simple traces of your standard Spider-Man 'Voltron style' deck with Black Cat and Yondu each getting Inspired, being dubbed Honorary Avengers, and hopping on some Sky Cycles to strike multiple times per turn without consequence. But there's a bit more to unpack here.
-
First, consider that Sky Cycle makes our allies Aerial. Again, this normally doesn't matter, except when it comes to Air Supremacy and Flying Formation. We get a small benefit from having them flying around and can help shore up one of Spidey's weaknesses against efficiently dealing with minions. Yes, Black Cat and Yondu are decent at that already, but it doesn't hurt to be throw out some more area damage.
-
We also get access to what you could call a third 'Voltron' ally in Cannonball. The only catch here is that he requires at least 2x Aerial cards in your hand. But, we'll give him a break, because he is decent at THW and is a great third target for Inspired. Additionally, we've emptied the hangers and have several other Aerial allies to fly alongside us. These allies provide targets for Cannonball in hand and can also fill in the 4th Ally slot once the Triskelion is online, or can be early blockers while you are setting up.
-
Last, but certainly not least, we have the Power of Flight granting us easy access to our Aerial friends and events, most notably Swinging Web Kick. This gives us a total of 6 'double' resources to power our primary attack event! Another small interaction here is the that it provides help Sunspot get some area damage in.
I certainly can't take any credit for publishing the first Spider-Man deck with the Power of Flight though, that honor goes to Pebokun. And while this concept may have started like a novelty, I think this deck has some potential!
As a side note, I hear there could be a way for heroes to go Aerial in one of the events in the upcoming Con of Heroes '25. This could be a fun deck to try there!
Let me know if you try this out and what you think!
Peace.

Nice Voltron deck! Have you ever thought of adding Cloud 9 into the deck? I like her in aerial voltron decks! +1 thwart for every aerial ally really rocks, especially in combination with Cannonball who can potentially take no consequential damage.
