I would love to have some other people kick the tires on this deck. I have given it a fair amount of play and revision and still have mixed results with it. This deck is intended for multiplayer and has been tested in 2 player games. Usually paired with a protection player.

Here is the concept. War Machine rarely needs to use his basic ATK, so you can stack up Brute Force cards on him and land some solid hits with Quick Strike and then use up the Brute Forces for a clinch basic ATK when needed. Meanwhile, this frees up War Machine to exhaust himself for defense and Smash the Problem. He should have plenty of weapons in play to use Fusillade as well.

Psylocke can give him some free flips to alter-ego for more ammo counters and healing, which is further aided by Down Time. He can then get back into the action quickly with Ready to Rumble

In play I have found it tricky to actually stack the Brute Forces on him however. Namely because War Machine already has so much setup, I find myself using them for resources to get his identity cards into play first. The deck has had wins, but suffers in two situations 1) Villains with a really strong opening - no real surprise here. War machine is a setup hero and will struggle against villains with strong early pressure. Just a bad matchup there, unless he has strong multiplayer friends to back him up while he sets up. 2) I have had problems with this deck petering out in long games. He will get close to the win but fall apart against a late game villain comeback.

Feel free to pick it apart or give it a run yourself. It has had some very strong games, but I'd love to see it get stronger.

Hi @LACK OF SUBTLETY, I gave your deck a whirl and enjoyed it. Defeated Standard III Juggernaut (with the Expert II cards added) fairly handily, in part due to a turn 1 Iron Man for Upgraded Chassis but I never got any Brute Force down so if that was the idea of the deck I agree it doesn't quite land.

I think there are better cards for improving your basic ATK than Brute Force these days - consider Combat Specialist and "Now I'm Mad" or Godslayer. As these cards all stay in play they may be less susceptible to your mid-game petering out, and Combat Specialist aids card draw too.

I would think that Gatekeeper suits War Machine better than Smash the Problem as many times you won't even need to exhaust, just blast a minion with Shoulder Cannon. Early game it will clear more threat too.

More card draw will definitely help set up faster. I would consider Hall of Heroes given that you are going to alter ego anyway (and it works well with Gatekeeper), maybe Nick Fury. Professor X gives you another turn in alter ego for more card draw.

In my use of this deck I found three Ready to Rumble and five resource cards excessive. I had a couple of hands with too many resources to spend, so there would be some scope to add some of these suggested cards without losing Fusillade or Quick Strike.

Hope any of that helps. If not, at least I tried.

That is excellent feedback, thanks! I'm glad you got a win out of it. I'm working on a revision and will definitely look at your suggestions as I do so.
