Valkyrie has not always been seen as the best hero, but a lot of cards have been released that make her more viable. This deck takes advantage of some of those cards, including player side schemes to help Valkyrie pull off some of the best combos in the game.

The setup

Dive Bomb with Honed Technique is known to be one of the best combos in the game, but Valkyrie can actually pull it off after she gets Aragorn to give her Aerial. Additionally, because Valkyrie has two Weapons in her kit that don't exhaust themselves (Dragonfang and Valkyrie's Spear) we can trigger Fusillade easily, dealing a decent amount of damage for a low cost. The problem is that both of these power moves take a bit of time to get set up. With the addition of player side schemes, we can now increase our likelihood of hitting what we want early. Superpower Training can be used to retrieve Aragorn or either of her weapons, but Lock and Load will help you get her weapons, so it is best to try and get Aragorn first.

Minion Slayer

Once you are set up, Valkyrie may be better at slaying minions than any other character thanks to Death-Glow.

Where do those minions come from?

In addition to Angela and Looking for Trouble, Valkyrie also has access to Chooser of the Slain, which she can use to grab lots of minions.

How do you defeat the minions?

Once set up, with Dragonfang and Combat Training, Valkyrie's basic attack will be 5 against a target with Death-Glow attached, which will take out most minions without any additional damage being needed. If you do have some of the more stubborn minions, it should be easy to finish them off with an ally, Have at Thee!, Fusillade, or an incredibly powerful Dive Bomb. It is also worth noting that defeating a minion with one of these attacks will allow you to ready, so taking the opportunity to thwart is not always a terrible option if you are in trouble.

What happens after we defeat the minions?

As long as she defeats the minion who has Death-Glow attached, Valkyrie gets to ready. If this is your first minion defeated, you can also trigger Valhalla to heal and draw. If Flight of the Valkyrior is out, 5 threat can be removed from a scheme. Everytime you defeat a minion, you can add a token to Hall of Heroes. Finally, Valkyrie's Death Perception ability can be triggered as many times as you need to so now you may attach Death-Glow to another minion, and attack again with her 5 basic attack, rinse, and repeat. If there are no more minions, you can attach Death-Glow to the villain, but be careful, as it can't be removed unless you flip down into alter-ego.

Valkyrie is the ultimate minion slayer, and getting her set up to be so is now easier than ever!
