Hi welcome to the fifteenth in a series of decks I plan to build directly influenced by the amazing Get Up and Game! Perfect Match-Up series found here: https://youtu.be/1I2q3sT6FoA Please check out the channel and the video since I thought it was an amazing gift to the community and it inspired me to start playing Champions more regularly.

My goal with this series is to create a unique deck inspired by each challenge match-up in the video using all the suggested cards plus some of my own to create a deck that any player can use to check out the challenge. If you’re missing some cards from a deck please ask in the comments and I’ll do my best to find replacements from your collection so that you can have fun too! Hopefully I can build a deck that can beat the villain on both standard and expert. I’ll try to document any tweaks I made while playing the deck too.

Hulk takes on Green Goblin in our next match up and as expected Hulk can either make this very easy or very hard. My Standard game was fairly simply. Then in my first Expert game I drew an early Shadow of the Past but still managed to secure a win! Feeling pretty high, I then had two back to back losses in Expert before I finally secured my second Expert win! The main difficulty is if Hostile Takeover succeeds early on. Hulk just doesn't have the ability to deal with the extra encounter card each round. I've found that it starts a chain of events in which more encounter cards lead to more side schemes which in turn leads to more encounter cards! More encounter cards also means more chances for Madness Counters to get removed which will then lead to having to take down Norman and again cause Hulk to take an additional 4 damage.

In general this means our primary goal is to keep threat down on the first scheme and try not to flip down while Norman is up. If you find yourself struggling with this, I'd recommend swapping in a couple additional allies to help Hulk manage the threat.

Ideally we'd like to use our massive amount of resources to get down as much support for the Hulk as possible. Avengers Mansion, Banner's Laboratory (which can also help you heal more), Quincarrier, Deft Focus, Moon Girl, and Nick Fury are all cards I'm happy to see early on so that I can get more out of each turn following that one.

At the same time you really need to live in the moment with Hulk. If you find yourself with a copy of Hulk Smash, Limitless Stamina and Limitless Strength, it may just be the best time to attack Norman, flip him to Goblin and then smash him for 13 damage.

Professor X is a huge help for taking out a side scheme and confusing the villain. Try to time your minion kills when you can use Chase Them Down and Moment of Triumph. Sometimes its ok to just spend a turn with Hulk using Sub-Orbital Leap to make sure we stay on the first main scheme. Relentless Assault and Thunderclap can help deal with minions. Primarily you just want to boost hulks ATK with Combat Training and Boundless Rage and then combine them with Limitless Stamina, Unstoppable Force and Crushing Blow.

The toughest part of the matchup besides side scheme management is that Goblin will often use cards that immediately flip him back to Norman and there are few ways to stop this. If you find this is happening too often you may want to include additional copies of Target Acquired. It's also important to flip down as needed to save specific cards you dont want to lose as Hulk but you also dont want to do this too often. Its a delicate balance but once you find it, you'll Hulk Smash your way to victory!
