"Once upon a time, there were three little girls who became super-heroes, one in Los Angeles, one in New York City, the other in Moscow and they were each assigned very hazardous duties... but I took them away from all that, and now they work for me. My name is Peter."
So playing with my group, we really wanted something that was dedicated to stopping bad cards from flipping, and the solution seemed to be Spider-Man Protection. This is a multiplayer deck only, but it's sole purpose is to get our first angel, Black Widow out, and then use her to stop anything heinously evil from hitting the table. Get Behind Me! is there for before she enters play, and once she does, it helps power her abilities. Spidey's second angel, Mockingbird is still one of the best allies around and her stun ability plays a crucial role in allowing Spidey to defend on Get Behind Me attacks, as well as help protect your teammates survive critical turns still ready. Black Cat rounds out the angels and her ability to attack for free gives Spidey much needs ping support, remove tough status cards, finish off low HP minions, etc. and with much of the deck dedicated to mental, she should put some resources into your hand. The First Aid's are in here just in case Widow (or Cat) needs to heal off damage.
Spidey's own toolset allows for some great treachery protection with Enhanced Spider-Sense and Webbed Up is still one of the best cards in the game with it's double stun ability.
Nick Fury plays the role of Bosley, and as we all know, can be a huge help at a pivotal moment, wrecking an enemy with 6 damage, or thwarting for 4, or even boosting your hand looking for key defensive cards and becoming a blocker himself. That he's a mental resource only helps the synergy.
I was never a big fan of Get Behind Me! because it costs 1 and you need to deal with a villain attack, but Spider-Man is about as solid a fit for the card as there can be. With more nefarious treachery and encounter cards coming our way in the months ahead, having a bad card stopper is going to become an even more needed asset. We've had a lot of fun with Spider-Man's Angels in our play sessions and he really takes the heat off the table allowing your teammates to do what they need to do to save the day!
