O Captain! My Captain! our fearful trip is done ~ Walt Whitman
Welcome to this deck where the capi does what he is best at: inspiring heroic deeds. This deck can be played solo or multi, but so far I have only tested it solo, with solid results in Expert mode:
Rhino > ass-kicked all day
Klaw > ass-kicked all day
Ultron > ass-kicked all day
Norman Osborne > ass-kicked all day
Green Goblin > ass-kicked all day
Wrecking Crew > ass-kicked all day
Old&Future Kang> ass-kicked all day
First turns
This is a long term deck. Search for yuur key resources such as Super-Soldier Serum, Helicarrier, Quincarrier, Avengers Tower and Steve's Apartment.
Team Training is also essential, as it will give all your allies an extra action.
In these first turns you will be playing some allies along with your resources to get some foothold on the situation and gain control of it, and this pretty much goes through first cycle of deck.
Second cycle of deck
You have your upgrade and support cards in play, and thanks to The Triskelion and Avengers Tower, your maximum of allies is 5 (six if you play Stinger).
Situation control through allies is incredibly flexible and solid. You can block, attack or thwart when needed, and thanks to Strength In Numbers, you can draw cards for a massive turn.
About Strength In Numbers and Avengers Assemble!
Strength In Numbers is an essential card. It can be used as an emergency accelerator in the early game, particularly with weak allies like Squirrel Girl, Stinger, Hawkeye or U.S. Agent, but its main role will be in the late game. Here you can perform a massive card draw (up to six) if need badly to stun the villain (to fish for Heroic Strike), a big Shield Toss or simply to replace some of your allies if they are badly injured.
Regarding Avengers Assemble!, I have serious doubts. I´ve been running Last Stand till recently instead, that is a situational 3 damage at zero cost (excellent ratio), but kills an ally that might have been used to block. I normally used Last Stand on strong allies leaving the weaks for blocking, but anyway. Avengers Assemble! should provide in the last part of the game an excellent ratio of damage / threat removal for its cost, taking into account that all allies here are avengers. And the captain, of course. Enjoy!
