Jessica Jones vs. Expert Ronan (French)

OK, it's time to stir things up. Jessica Jones is the most powerful hero in Marvel Champions to date—period. She's capable of pulling off the same feats as Cable or Spider-Ham... without including as many staples in her deck.

In fact, Jessica is so powerful that she can get away with using only themed allies and consistently defeating the game’s most powerful villains on Expert mode in just a few turns. She is absolutely insane.

Side Schemes

Side schemes are obviously at the heart of Jessica's gameplay. The main question raised by her specific victory condition is: How many side schemes do I need to include in my deck to reach the final villain stage as quickly as possible—and one-shot him right away? This deck strikes a balance with six side schemes, in addition to Jessica's signature one.

Strategy Session is a key card in the deck for tutoring the schemes we're most interested in as early as possible—ideally on turn 1.

Jessica-Jones-1

Friends and Family

The allies are, frankly, interchangeable, and serve primarily to tie the overall mechanics together. I chose to include themed allies who are close to Jessica narrative-wise, but they can easily be replaced with your favorite allies.

  • The Husband and the Overbearing Friend are the two exceptions. They allow us to comfortably survive even the villain's most violent attacks.
  • The Nanny shines when she enters play with Calling in Favors, with a hand full of cards and therefore 4 tokens.
  • The Teen Crush clearly fits with our side scheme mechanics and offers 3 to 4 versatile activations.
  • The Best Friend will often help us deal damage to the enemy more quickly to reach their final stage, and has a relatively reliable response with 18 other energy cards.
  • The Colleague is valued for his versatility, but will rarely be a priority.

We bring allies into play as often as necessary via Calling in Favors. She-Hulk is our top priority to recycle from the discard pile with Chance Encounter.

Conclusion

I guess the rest of the cards are self-explanatory. Jessica is probably too powerful, but that doesn't take away from the fact that she's a lot of fun to play mechanically. And in the end, that's what matters most. Have fun!

But does it win against rhino ?!

Not sure, I gotta try :D

Very nice deck! Yeah, she’s crazy strong. Just wanted to point out that the 4K Digital Camcorder discards minions, not defeats, which means it’s useful in scenarios like Kingpin but won’t help you advance the game. It’s still useful and powerful (as is every JJ card).

Now we are escalating to HEROIC RONAN

i suppose 42 cards are not a problem because of numerous tutoring cards, right ?

Jessica doesn't care if Kingpin is in stage 2 because she can defeat him in stage 1. In fact, she might prefer that.

Did you beat Heroic Ronan? I know the title is a bit tongue in cheek but like...Jessica could actually do it and I'm curious if this got there

Sep 01, 2026 Portinou · 2414

@Stretch22 I did twice in a row, in 5-ish turns both times.

Sep 01, 2026 Portinou · 2414

@lilipulse I am not too worried getting a bit over the 40 cards limit in this game, since you draw very fast indeed. One could argue that the optimal deck would be 40 cards, but I prefer having a few more options over deck-thinning in MC :)

@hyperion Nice catch, thank you!

@Portinou Sweet

@Stretch22 I have no doubt you will have a stronger deck and a more consistent playline than mine at the end. I like your content a lot BTW.

Thanks. I Will test her on the last campaign.

I made a meme in honour of this deck on the Book of Face in the MC group

Sweet Christmas, Expert is now for kids. The power creep is real.

The AE every turn and Tutor every turn with -2 cost, plus it's played and not just put into play, plus a 323 stat line plus snooping around... POWER. But Luke Cage might not be that far behind.. Found myself outright using 7 cards from his set without trying.

Has anyone played this in a 3-4 player game? How much value does it lose as threat increases in those side schemes?

Sep 03, 2026 Man-is-Obsolete · 10101

I’ve tried playing this multiple times against Ronan and they have each been long affairs. I am not sure how you are deleting the final stage in Expert while ALSO using Calling in Favors so quickly (you said 5 turns). Alias exhausts after you defeat a side scheme so the most it gives is 2 per round and that’s wiped away by calling in favors.

So when I tried this I would go get Build Support right away, clear it with Snoop around if I was lucky to draw it, grab calling in favors, and then immediately use calling in favors. That leaves only 2 threat on Alias. Flip to hero form and clear Cut Power with my basic and now there is 3 threat on Alias because it is already exhausted so this side scheme generates no threat. Subsequent games I tried just leaving cut power so alias had a guaranteed threat next turn.

Anyways then I started to math it out I feel like a somewhat lucky amount of threat alias can get is an average of 5 per turn (some combination of snoop, basics, 1 side cleared, stakeout, and/or circumstantial evidence). So at best I feel I could reach 25 threat on alias by turn 5 and NOT use calling in favors or the kicker on Big Mistake. If I were to use calling in favors every turn from turn 1 it would take 7-8 turns to generate enough threat on Alias to delete stage 3 Ronan, more if I used Big Mistake to get through the large Guard/Patrol Kree minions. All that and still deal 18+ damage to Ronan’s stage 2.

I feel like I am missing something for how you are accomplishing this all in 5 turns, it’s a good deck but I am finding it to take much longer than that. Teach me haha

@Man-is-Obsolete I will probably post a YouTube video (in French but it is automatically translated nowadays) when the cards IMG are available on OCTGN. I will add the link here.

@saintmatthew She's still strong enough to comfortably be playing justice in multiplayer but a way to keep her scaling as well as possible is to play her in protection and defend every hit for every player while still playing some easily accessible ready cards to finish off side schemes. Only issue is that she might be so strong it might reduce the fun for everyone else involved if they like some pressure so talk to the group beforehand.

Sep 05, 2026 Portinou · 2414

@Stretch22 I just watched your video, glad to see you obtained an equivalent outcome with your deck :)

Sep 05, 2026 Man-is-Obsolete · 10101

@Portinou I watched that as well and it won in 7 turns, though there were a few misses when it came to evidence. He missed 4 k twice and calling in favors at least once. Misplays happen of course but that was going to go at least 8 turns.

I am still trying to figure out how you are getting a 5 turns win that also includes a villain delete.

Sep 05, 2026 Portinou · 2414

@Man-is-Obsolete I saw him forget about the evidences on Calling in Favors twice indeed, but not on 4K since you spend 2 less evidences than the remaining hit points of the minions - but maybe I missed the moments you are referring to. So 4 damage "too short" at the end... knowing that Nick Fury dealt 1 damage too much, and that She-Hulk and the Kree Lieutenant could still deal 3 damage, and that he could still pay a Ready to Rumble for 2 and so deal 2 more damage... so yeah, he forgot a few evidence effects but even when you count them, he overkills the Villain on his last turn :)

Sep 05, 2026 Man-is-Obsolete · 10101

Yes I missed that the minion had 4 damage already. Still how does it win in 5? haha

Anyways, good deck! Fun watch @Stretch22! Keep punching those bad guys!

@gam7 it holds up very well.

This deck is an absolute masterpiece, espacially the name.

Sep 26, 2026 Ephigy · 7

I thought Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman was Carol's bestie?

Sep 27, 2026 thom1977 · 719

This deck was great against Ronan, but it totally bombed against Mojo. Very interesting to experience that difference.

Sep 29, 2026 Elltrev · 1

How are you surviving Ronan's attacks with so few chump blocking allies?

Sep 29, 2026 Portinou · 2414

@Elltrev Factor in that She-Hulk offers 2 damage-free turns, Luke Cage offers 3 damage-free turns, and Calling in Favors grabs you an ally on demand when you need to chump block. Add to that the 11 HP and free recovery of 4 every turn, the cancelled damage from reluctant flyer, the cancelled activation from Run them to Ground, and the fact that you will have no game last ont more than 6-7 turns… You have more solutions than almost all heroes in the game.

Sep 29, 2026 Portinou · 2414

@thom1977 Interesting. I tested the deck against several villains including Mojo, and it crushed him too in my playthrough. How would you explain the difference ?

Sep 29, 2026 phtephen · 102

Jessica is crazy good at staying alive. You can even add Practiced Plan to have more Reluctant Flier chances.

Sep 30, 2026 thom1977 · 719

@Portinou The threat whenever you flip really adds up. I would love to see a gameplay video--please post one.

Still waiting for the images to be uploaded on OCTGN unfortunately :(

Just beat Expert Absorbing Man in 4 turns with this. I know it's only Absorbing Man but 2 turns per stage are still crazy to me.

I strictly play 4-player. Ive been playing this deck in the Sinister Motives campaign. Im the dedicated thwerter. I find myself needing more thwert power for the main scheme and I end up not using Turn the Tide 99% of the time. Are there any changes you make for a dedicated 4-player thwerter?
