MAGIK, QUEEN OF LIMBO.
Let me present my personal Magik deck, my favorite Marvel character since her early days. The deck is highly thematic to make you feel like you're truly playing Magik, and it's built to be versatile against any scenario or villain on Expert difficulty. I've played every campaign on Expert in both solo and multiplayer with this deck without being defeated, so you're playing with a thoroughly tested deck.
The only "non‑thematic" card is Hulk, but his synergy with Magik and his low cost make him an incredibly good addition to the deck. For a cost of two, you get a 5‑health wall that deals 5 damage per turn, as long as you have an aggression resource on top (or place it there yourself with Limbo).
The deck works on its own thanks to the stun and confuse from Soul Strike and Exorcism. You can search for them with Spiritual Meditation, Scrying or Magic Attack, and recover them from the discard pile with Stepping Disc and Magik's alter‑ego ability. Even against villains with Steady, the deck performs perfectly thanks to its excellent combination of damage, allies, and versatility.
The Basic Spell are your Swiss army knife for everything, and the very cheap Skilled Strike or Magic Attack let you eliminate tough minions or damage the villain from the very first turns (along with Marrow and Hulk). Just imagine when you have your Soulswordand Combat Training!
You have two resource generators, The X-Jetand Bloodgem. Although you won't need them thanks to Sorcerer Supreme giving you a hand size of 6 (7 with the top card), they can get you out of a tight spot or help you discard an obligation.
Endurance and Down Time reinforce the weak point of mystics – their health – by increasing its maximum and allowing you to heal 5 points while in alter‑ego. Added to the healing abilities of the Basic Spell and Triage you'll be able to heal in hero or alter‑ego without any trouble, taking advantage of the confuses from Professor X, Psylocke, and Exorcism
This deck will always keep the solution to a scenario's problem within reach, or let you search for that key card whenever you need it.
I hope you have as much fun and enjoy it as much as I do.

Apr 28, 2026Thanks! Sunfire is a really good ally, you can include him without any problem, maybe swapping him for Marrow or just adding his card to the deck (I play a 50-card variant of this deck and it works just as well). I've played with Sunfire in this deck on occasion; he's not in the base deck because he's less thematic with Magik. (Shiro is too arrogant to get along with Illyana) ;) |
Apr 29, 2026Love the commitment to Magik as you main |
Apr 29, 2026Magik had to be the protagonist of her deck and make you feel like you're playing as her, appearing through portals and striking twice per phase, while casting spells and controlling the situation or another minion. Her allies make their presence felt when they appear, not to steal the spotlight, but to allow her to execute her abilities even better. Hulk might be the only one whose performance could overshadow Magik, but I've always imagined that instead of Hulk, it's a Demon(s) of Limbo that she summons to attack enemies. In fact, the randomness of Hulk's powers is very similar to what a demon might do (come and go, attack everyone…). Thanks for your comment! |

Awesome looking deck. What do you think of Sunfire in this deck?
