Deck Pitch: Play a couple very impactful allies, ready Doctor Strange up to cycle through the invocation deck, control the flow of the game with statuses.

Stephen Strange would 100% be a Blue player. I don’t really get the impression he would be upset because “this isn’t how magic works” because if he agreed to play the game he would appreciate the rules of the world the game takes place in. He would also be an absolute menace that plays counterspell recursion decks that draw dozens of cards because that’s the most efficient and effective way to play the game sometimes.

“No Tony, I don’t care that your deck cost you $12,000 and you just want to pull off your expensive combo one time, I can’t let those artifacts hit the field.”

“Thor, it doesn’t matter if you have killed dragons in real life, Aetherize means all fifteen of those dragons and giants go back to your hand and then at the end of the turn you’ll discard down to your hand size of 4.”

“Well well well, Natasha, now that you’ve seen my hand you know I can’t let you live.”

So since Doc probably likes playing Magic, we’re gonna pretend we’re playing Magic with this deck.

The Basics:

Our ramp package includes a handful of key artifacts like The Eye of Agamotto, Quincarrier, and Bloodgem. We’re not running any basic lands, instead we have Digging Deep and The Power of Leadership, Power of Leadership is more obvious but I’ll explain the reason for Digging Deep later. Clarity of Purpose can occasionally be used as a mana rock but we’re mostly using it to help with tutoring. Resource Reserve is a useful piece of kit who’s purpose will become more obvious as we go but we’ll mostly be using it to bank our wild mana. The Sorcerer Supreme increases our hand size which is almost the same as giving us more mana on a turn.

Creatures

First off we’re running the somewhat popular Jeskai wizard Adam Warlock because of his versatility and because he has flying like a few of our other creatures since it helps to set up a minor board wipe I’ll go over later.

Domino is here for a niche interaction with Magic Blast to completely lock up another creature. Swap a wild in your hand to the top of the deck and you won’t have to worry about someone for the next couple rounds of combat because of the easy stun and confuse.

Hugin & Munin is a newer card, but these birds lets you search your opponents deck for a creature to put into play and untaps between zero and four of your creatures based on how powerful that creature was. We’ll be using this to play our commanders spells and maybe getting extra round of combat. And these birds fly which is important.

Spectrum is another new one and is the main reason for Resource Reserve. Stash a wild on an earlier turn and you can use it to give Spectrum two +1/+1 counters. She has flying naturally so we need her for a board wipe.

Wong is Wong. Key creature in our arsenal we want to keep the whole game. We are running Sidekick to make it easier to keep him alive and to allow us to use Side-by-Side for spell casting.

Creature Related Spells

Air Supremacy is our one side board wipe that hits more creatures the more creatures with Flying we have. Our commander (once he has his cloak), Adam Warlock, the bird twins, and Spectrum all have Flying so this can hit four creatures for three.

We have Suit Up and Make the Call to help tutor and recur our creatures. Make the Call is especially useful for playing Hugin & Munin since we can untap our commander and then tap him to play his spells multiple times on a turn.

Call for Aid and Summoning Spell both make us mill cards from our deck which we need to get Digging Deeps into our hand. Summoning Spell puts a creature onto the battlefield and Call is specifically used to put Spectrum into our hand but can also be used if we need to reset our deck.

The Control Suite

Magic Blast works well with Domino since we have so much wild mana in this deck. I mentioned this earlier so I won't retread that ground.

Crimson Bands of Cyttorak and Images of Ikonn both throw out status counters like candy and with the rest of your deck you should be able to get one of these on top whenever you need it.

Seven Rings of Raggadorr throws out Totem Armor to your commander and other creatures so it's never a bad time to use it.

Misc Utility Picks

Command Team allows us to untap our creatures for extra uses. This is especially good to combo into Make the Call by untapping Hugin & Munin so they go to discard and allow you to play them again for another set of untaps. Or untap Wong to cycle mill your invocation deck.

The Triskelion in included to give us a bigger buffer on the amount of creatures we can have in play. We can't go too wide with it, but will let you squeeze in that fourth if you're struggling to use them all up before playing another.

Bloodgem I mentioned earlier, but you can either use this as a wild in our hand or play it. Adam Warlock can let you gain three life pretty reliably so don't won't have to rely on recovery to gain it. It's not something to use every turn, but it works well in a pinch.
