Have at Thee!

This is a pretty straightforward deck that can be played by new players, casual players, or more experienced players. The play loop is satisfying and simple to execute, making it great for anyone. While this is intended to be a MP deck (2-4 players), but can function in solo. Nightcrawler becomes incredible valuable as he can thwart for two and stay on play indefinitely with his ability. (If you’re playing solo, I’d recommend swapping Nova for Starhawk.)

Companions

Nova can do damage to the villain to pop tough cards or just add on damage, but more likely he’s going to hit minions for 2 damage every turn since Thor has access to two energy resource generators.

Brother Voodoo Will help you find an event in a very event-heavy deck. He can also defend an attack for you, or a friend!

Iceman Will help to stun the constant stream of minions you will (hopefully) be facing.

Nightcrawler can be used to defend and thwart. His ability can be used on himself, meaning he can exhaust to defend an attack, then with an energy resource from God of Thunder he can return to hand, having absorbed as much damage as you need him to. In solo play, this combo can be played to block the villain’s activation every turn.

Summon Minions

"Come Get Me, Bub!" and Defender of the Nine Realms will summon minions to help Thor draw 2 cards with his hero ability, Have at Thee!, and Face the Past will do that once and draw him 5 cards. Loki isn’t that difficult to deal with.

Ready

He can ready with Ever Vigilant, Limitless Stamina, and What Doesn't Kill Me. Anticipation will also ready you off a minion in the encounter phase, or from "Come Get Me, Bub!" on your turn. Leading Blow will almost always trigger once you clear Specialized Training.

Fight

Thor has a basic attack of 2, and Mjolnir makes that 3. Specialized Training can make that 4 (and draw a card after you attack). That’s enough, but maybe you have a friend playing aggression and they’d like to give you Combat Training? Thank you very much.

EDIT: Remove The Bifrost, that was included by mistake! Thanks to tjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj for shouting that out!

…and that’s the deck! If you enjoyed it, drop a like. And feel free to to check out my other decks for the con:

  1. Spaceman - A protection Venom deck built around Stand Together, meant to play well with other Avengers and Guardians, themed around an obscure 2008 track from The Killers
  2. Fist Bump - An aggression Captain America deck built around including only physical resources, and getting the most value from Super-Soldier Serum, to push damage and trigger Hulk for +2 damage each activation
  3. Basic B!tch - An all-basic Jubilee deck built to maximize her hero cards and produce wild resources
  4. The Indomitable Iceman - A protection deck that leans into defending for the table as much as possible, using Indomitable, Never Back Down, and Desperate Defense to get card draw and keep everyone safe
  5. Groot Camp - a multiplayer deck that is built to pass out Boot Camp around the table and beef up the full package of Guardian allies. Ideally played with the paired Star-Lord deck it was designed with

Fun mix of allies and I’ve never thought to use Leading Blow with Thor! And of course Come Get Me Bub is an awesome fit - these last two waves have really helped Odinson out.

Any reason you're not running Warpath? I'm working on a similar deck and find him extremely useful. I've seen other deck builders leave him out of their lists and am wondering if there is some subtly I'm overlooking. Thanks!
