Hello, fellow Marvel Champions enthusiasts!
I’m excited to share my take on Ghost-Spider: Perfect Defense / Change of Fortune. I know, I know—Ghost-Spider in Perfect Defense and Change of Fortune? Sooooo original! But what can I say? This version of Ghost-Spider is one of my favorite.
Punching, kicking, and drawing—that's the plan with this deck!
Let’s dive into the allies:
- Jocasta is an amazing card for defensive event heroes.
- Gambit is simply awesome! He provides vital information and control for the next cards from the encounter deck, plus he can have awesome stats.
To tackle threat management—Ghost-Spider’s main weakness—we have Not Today! in the mix. While Phantom Flip is great for threat removal, but 5 threat can be to much threat removal in true solo.
Not Today!, Riposte, and Preemptive Strike will help you trigger those perfect defense cards.
On the offensive side, Ghost Kick, Riposte, Electrostatic Armor, and Flow Like Water will help you activate Change of Fortune.
Obviously the essential cards for the Perfect Defense and Change of Fortune strategies, including:
Thanks to the interrupts and responses from most of these cards, Ghost-Spider won’t be down for long. Remember, your hero ability can be triggered once per phase, so utilize it during both the hero and villain phases.
The most questionable card in the deck is Indomitable. In my playtesting, I’ve found I often need to defend more than once per phase, which makes it a bit tricky.
I went with 45 cards because many of them will end up on the board, thinning out your deck.
Hope you enjoy this deck!
Until next time, friends!!!
Does Preservation actually work with Ghost-Spider's ability? It specifies the "Interrupt" or "Response" ability on an event, and Preservation is a Resource. Was there a ruling regarding that interaction?
