Concept:
The idea is relatively simple. In a multiplayer game:
-
Leave each non-Guard, non-Patrol minion in play, but make sure they have 4 HP or less.
-
Play Unleash Nova Force in the hero phase (Ms. Marvel helps make this happen a lot)
-
Kill each minion in the villain phase by defending. The combination of Forcefield Projection, Riposte, Change of Fortune, Unflappable, Defense Specialist, Dauntless, Electrostatic Armor, Energy Barrier, Flow Like Water and Under Control should do the trick.
-
The first minion's death will trigger Unleash Nova Force, Defense Specialist, Change of Fortune and Unflappable, 5 cards total. Every one after that will still trigger Unleash Nova Force. Bounce on their heads like Mario in the gif above.
-
Get rid of side schemes with Not Today! and Containment Strategy (Yes, really. It can clear a 10 threat scheme in one big round.)
Other Hacks:
-
Use Pinpoint to shuffle back in Ms. Marvel, Energy Barrier, Under Control, Containment Strategy and Warpath. If an Avenger friend comes along, get them to throw Honorary Avenger and Sky Cycle on him. Double the cards back in your deck a round!
-
Speaking of Warpath, you can use him to play Lightspeed Flight and Pot Shot in the villain turn. Have a friend bring Leadership Cable, and not only could you play Warpath in the first round, but that friend could also Voltron him for you.
-
Just because this deck concentrates on the villain side doesn't mean you can't crush on the hero turn. Ready with Repurpose. Take out guard and patrol minions. Take out nasty side schemes. Reload your Energy Barriers and Under Controls. Attack and thwart as much as you can.
Other Cards:
I've actually been working on some version of this deck May of 2022. So...it's had some revisions. Here's some great cards that didn't make the list:
-
Angel's Aerie - with the amount of times you defend as Nova, you can easily take him from 1 HP to 20 with this card. I just didn't need it most of the time.
-
Anticipation - Works great with "Come Get Me, Bub!", but I liked the increase to basic stats from Repurpose better.
-
Hard to Ignore - This card is amazing in solo and two player, but doesn't do much after that for Unleash Nova Force.
-
Render Medical Aid - Great to keep Ms. Marvel and Warpath around, but you get so many cards that this really isn't a huge issue.
-
Soaring Acrobatics - Fantastic card, but I didn't find I needed it. Definitely wouldn't hurt at all.
-
Desperate Defense - If you want to turn this into a team defense deck, this card will help you go there. Pair it with Armored Vest and Soaring Acrobatics.

Oct 14, 2024I’ve been running this deck and iterations on it ever since Inigo first proposed the idea. This is the most fun I’ve had with Nova A+ deck. One of the best! Don't sleep on this deck! It’s great. I’ve heard the complaints. If you are the type to look at this and say: “Eh repurpose. Been there, done that.” Or you don’t have that card, or it’s being used in another deck… Don’t worry! Take repurpose out. I guarantee you’ll have a blast either way! Works great with and without! |

I appreciate the kind words! |
Nice!
I like building this one around bouncing Forcefield Projection back to your hand each round and using it to push 3 damage when the Villian attacks onto a minion with 3 HP or less. Ms. Marvel is such a unique ally.
Cool take on this. Cheers!
