Give the villain an Uno Reverse Card, using their turn against them!

wvSNRah.jpg

Use your turn to build your board state up and grab charge counters. In a few turns, you’ll be untouchable, clearing up to 3 threat from the main scheme, drawing a card, and pumping out a ton of damage.

Upgrade order of importance is Gambit's Guild Armor > Unflappable >/= Hard to Ignore > Armored Vest > Gambit's Staff > Electrostatic Armor. Depending on the villain Judoka Skill is either as important as the Vest or not really a focus if you can consistently defend their attacks.

Unless a really nasty minion shows up early (like Mystique) you'll want to be conservative on your Charge Counters, as building up makes Rogue free to play as well as making Natural Agility as good as Spidey's Backflip...well...almost.

Annihilating the villain on their turn is an amazing reward for the setup, able to hit the villain for up to 16 from an attack (2 fully powered Powerful Punch + 1 from your staff + Electrostatic Armor. I’ve hit this a few times but even slugging the villain for 7 with one Punch is often able to clutch out a win.

Hard Knocks is essentially guaranteed to give you a tough with a minion out, with a ceiling of 7 damage. Similarly, Powerful Punch hits for the same, able to take out a high hp minion or just chunk a lot of the villain, with an additional 1 from Gambit's Staff. With the ruling on defeating an enemy with the punch, you could proc all your take no damage effects in case you hadn’t proc’ed them yet!

Judoka Skill is so so good for Remy against the heavy hitting villains. Hard to Ignore shores up Gambit’s meh thwart and Not Today! along with your allies keep those pesky side schemes under control. Crisis icons and patrol minions are top priorities when you see them.

MVP ally is Jocasta, able to help fast track charge counters with Natural Agility or set up the big damage turn with Powerful Punch, or even help knock out a pesky side scheme with Not Today!. Polaris and Nightcrawler further secure a flawless defense.

And that's it! Chip away at the villain until you're ready to end it and then blow them up. This deck scales well into multiplayer and does great in solo if you are able to get set up in time.

Nice! Hard Knocks seems like a great combo with his ability to push its damage as you say! Love the theme too, combining Gambit's card shenanigans with Uno.

@dr00 counting the counters intensifies

@VillainTheory I've been loving the consistency of triggering it, and I think it's justice equivalent of Stealth Strike should definitely be considered for a hero side yellow deck.

One of the most fun protection decks I’ve played. Thank you!

Cheers @penguino! Thanks for checking this out and glad it’s worked out for you! It’s a lot of fun and scales super well into multiplayer. Outside of using allies in other decks, I haven’t taken it apart since!

Love the deck. So much fun to play and I always feel in control. Especially with a Natural Agility under Jocasta.

Hey @slothlighter glad you liked it! I had to break this back out right after watching some X-Men ‘97. Jocasta really helps you supercharge counters where I’m often short on them in any other aspect
