Happy Holidays, on the Marvel Champions discord this year we did a secret Santa deck exchange and this is the first of two decks I'm sending to my secret exchanger! I was given a few bits of criteria:
- My secret draw wanted a leadership deck not revolving around chump blocking
- They often played 2 handed or with a play partner so two decks that intertwine work out fine
- They do not own Spider-Ham, Cyclops or Phoenix so we are avoiding cards from those packs.
Here's what I came up with! I hope they enjoy it and have a great time playing this over the Holidays. In an alternate universe there is no Peter Parker and Ghost-Spider has taken the role of the Spider-totem. Unlike the MCU where Tony Stark guides a young Spider-Man in this universe, Steve Rogers works in tandem with the young Gwen Stacy as he recruits her into the Avengers. For now she is an Honorary Avenger but after this mission that's sure to change. Steve has forgotten all about the The Power of Leadership and has been throwing chump allies under the bus. Can Ghost-Spider show him the fun in leading a team again? Can Cap and Ghostie save Christmas and bring back the The Power of Leadership? Find out!
This deck is all creating a wide board of high ATK allies. The allies should only be used to clear minions and saved for a final big swing against the villain.
You need to target getting an Honorary Avenger onto Ghost-Spider as soon as possible so she can get full use of Avengers Assemble!. Slowly build a board using 4 allies ideally containing She-Hulk, Wasp, and Hulk. You want to optimize She-Hulk's attack using an Honorary Avenger and a Reinforced Suit from Gwen.
You may get a few other gifts from Ghost-Spider like a timely Inspired to help with thwarting or a clutch Lead from the Front. You can use Press the Advantage with your Heroic Strike to draw through your deck fast and set up your board
Captain America is the right hero for this deck because...
- He can double tap to keep threat under control and defend in a pinch meaning we won't have to chump any allies.
- Flipping down will give the entire table the ally economy we need to fill both heroes boards with 4 avengers for the ultimate Avengers Assemble!
I tested this deck pairing out against: Rhino, Crossbones, and Sandman to great fun! Hope you enjoy!
