Beating Ronan solo with Rocket? It CAN be done. Going to take lots of luck (as all matches with Ronan do), but it's not impossible. I first attempted several times with Aggression, but ended up switching to protection after many frustrating rounds and found this was a better fit against Ronan.

A couple keys to this deck: Lots of resources. You can get some good cards in play early. A few important allies with clutch abilities. A variety of protection events that help manage threat when those annoying Patrols inevitably surface. Avengers Mansion. Because card draw.

MULLIGANS We will frequently dump the entire first hand to dig for: A single copy of Multiple Man OR Groot. Either makes a strong opening. Double resources of any flavor If none of those allies show up and Avengers Mansion does, play it instead. The sooner you get it in play the stronger you'll be. If you are lucky you might even pick up enough resources to play 3 multiple men and Avengers Mansion (using the Milano as a resource) on the opening turn.

Do not be afraid to discard a tech as you can always fish it back out with Salvage

PLAY Multiple Man is one strong opener as you can ping off the "Tough" status with one of them and then hit one more damage with the other two, and as long as Fanaticism doesn't pop up early, they can block 3 attacks for you.

But what might be my favorite is if you end up with Groot instead, and you try to keep him on the table as long as possible. If attacks are too strong, you are better off letting a cheap ally chump block them or use protection events and let Rocket take the hit instead. On the game I won, I managed to play Groot on turn 1 and have him as my only ally for almost a full deck cycle. Perfect defender against any of the Kree attacks as he can actually come out ahead on some of them. If you can find Shake it Off, it's the perfect combo to use on Groot as his next defend will be no damage plus 2 healing.

You also need to get Cybernetic Skeleton and Thruster Boots on the table as soon as you can find them. Otherwise you attack is garbage, and you need all the thwarting you can get. Do NOT flip to alter unless you have cleared all threat off and have no minions in play as Ronan can scheme out of the first phase in 1 turn easily...and phase 2 is much harder as you cannot remove threat when he has the stone. Stay in phase 1 at all costs.

As for tech weapons, priority is on the Particle Cannon as it is your only reliable source of 3+ damage unless you have the Power Stone in hand and the Cybernetics. Use the batteries as often as possible to recharge the cannon, and always salvage for the batteries unless you are needing to recover the armors that got mulliganed.

The other damage combo to get the stone back is with Repurpose and any empty tech you may have. Since you aren't flipping to alter often, this is a good way to get use out of the used up tech and boost your attack. Unfortunately, Preemptive Strike doesn't count as an attack for the Power Stone, but it does deal great damage against Ronan since the boost cards are generally high.

Stun cards can be very helpful if you can afford to play Mockingbird or Iron Fist

Ever Vigilant comes in clutch for getting multiple attacks while you hold the power stone or for an extra thwart if the scheme is getting out of control.

Unfortunately, I found myself very rarely using Rockets special ability, but I would try to time my Particle Cannon blasts with finishing off a minion or Ronan with 1 extra damage, sometimes even sacrificing an ally to get 1 more damage on them before I took a shot.

So yes, a lot of luck is required, but it is possible to beat him in solo. Best of luck to you.

Note: I used the recommended standard Ronan modules when playing this deck.
