There's nothing like a good old-fashioned team up! Luke Cage got involved in Spider-Man's latest adventure, and he'll stick around until the fighting is over.

Protection isn't the easiest aspect to play solo, but Spider-Man can make it work. Cycle the deck quickly and make sure to put Luke Cage on the board. Once there, you want to keep him until the end of the game using Med Team and, in a pinch, First Aid. Two extra attacks each round is nothing to sneeze at, and in a pinch he's a good Defender. (Get it? All right I'll shut up now.)

I feel like the threat is building up too much, and hard to remove. How do you cope with that?

Protection allows this deck to stay in Hero mode much longer than most other Spider-Man decks. This in itself prevents threat from building up too much. Don't discard Indomitable for resources: each copy means one additional turn before you have to switch to Alter-Ego mode for healing.

It's sad when there is no minions around to take advantage of Spider-Tracer, but Black Widow and Nick Fury should usually be used for thwarting. You do have the option of removing threat when Nick Fury enters play. It's not as appealing as drawing cards, but if threat is a problem go with it.

That said, cutting the single copy of Haymaker for a third Emergency could be judicious. It only prevents a single point of threat, but in solo play that is often sufficient.
