This deck is part of Project Post-con: building a ready to use deck for each existing hero, just using the available card copies of buying each pack once. This does not only enable fast pick-and-play, but it also makes each deck feel unique, as not everyone is using the same powerhouse cards. Each deck is intended to be fun and usable in expert mode, but none will be the absolute strongest possible due to the card limitations. Looking for other decks? Search for the Post-con tag.

Project Post-con builds: V2 (Release of Vision)

For the people following the project: the addition of Vision has altered the builds of Wasp, Quicksilver and Groot. The additional aspect cards are also suggested for Nebula and black widow. I will put those in the comments of those decks in order not to flood Marvel CDB with new decks each release.

Vision is yet another special protection hero. Especially his intangible form has never-seen defensive options, though limiting you from actual defending. As a result this deck contains no additional defence cards outside his core hero set. Combine this with both good attack and thwart event, a new android pseudo-leadership approach and a love for flipping to any of three forms (including alter-ego) and we have something special to discuss. He has great upgrades and supports, but can hit the ground running from turn 1, unlike most other protection heros.

RESOURCES

The The Power of Protection only has a few targets in this deck, but they are worth it due to Vision's ability to recycle his android allies. Besides this, the basic resources are a given.

ALLIES

Andoids! First thought: the more the merrier, but as vision can recur any of them and your ally limit stops at three anyway, the following four are all he needs:

  • Vivian is your versatile powerhouse, delivering on THW or ATK, depending on the need, before bravely jumping in front of her defenceless father. She is your best target for 616 Hickory Branch Lane.
  • Machine Man comes second, with versatility as well. Got any cards in your hand you can't play, put it into a higher ATK or THW before chumping with him as well.
  • Victor Mancha assist mainly with minions when in dense form, but he can often also tank a villain hit.
  • Protector, finally, is perhaps the least impressive, but an additional helps a lot. Even At the ally limit, you want a fourth android in the deck just to get the card draw (read resource) from 616 Hickory Branch Lane.

UPGRADES

  • Vision's Cape is great. Confused/stunned? Just flip to intangible form. And retaliate in dense form is always useful.
  • Solar Gem is a wild resource generator without limitations, what's not to absolutely love.
  • Density Control is basically a return card for your Phase Disruption. However, in a pinch it can get back any attack or thwart event as well.
  • Dauntless is just so much fun with intangible form. Minions typically hit you for 0 while destroying themselves. A great counter for his own nemesis.
  • Defensive Stance, finally ensure you some more protection to get dauntless off when needed or to just keep you in a safe health range.

SUPPORT

  • 616 Hickory Branch Lane is such an interesting cards, making this almost a green leadership deck. Prime targets are listed in the ally sections. And even when you don't need an ally, this grants you another resource. This card is often the prime reason to go to alter-ego.
  • Avengers Mansion is always good and Vision has the tools to pay for it with his Solar Gem, 7 hand-size on from intangible alter-ego to dense hero and even Team-Building Exercise adds to this.
  • Team-Building Exercise further also guarantees you can play all the android allies you will be drawing and recycling.

EVENTS

Vision's great card draw further helps this event heavy deck be consistent throughout the whole game.

  • Phase Disruption is your most valuable event, allowing you to fetch your androids in alter-ego and situationally getting rid of annoying villain attachments.
  • Solar Beam is versatile, ensuring you can always do wat you need.
  • Just Passing Through and Superdense Strike add onto the THW and ATK power of this protection deck.
  • Mass Increase is slightly more situational as 2/3 forms can't run it and it is a villain phase reaction. Furthermore, this deck strongly favours Intangible and alter-ego form. But no damage and a stun will get you out of some sticky situations.
  • Tackle picks up the additional stun power, as attacks are easier to time (you can flip in hero phase when you want to). It further helps this no-defence protection style, or your allies in multiplayer.
  • Perseverance was good on Wasp, it's great on Vision. You'll typically want to use this upon switching to dense form for an attack or dark draw, as this form needs the tough more than intangible. Also don't forget in intangible, the passive damage reduction comes first, so sometimes you won't even loose the tough.
  • Subduefurther helps you defend, basically tanking 5 ATK in intangible form.
  • Get Behind Me! helps with the only thing Vision could not counter yet: treacheries. Making him impervious to almost anything throughout this deck.
  • Reboot finally is an amazing readying card. Healing 1, if you took any damage, and granting another base ATK or THW. However, sometimes you'll wan't to use this to get another 3 ATK/THW out of Vivian.

In conclusion, in an unseen protection style, Vision phases through the competition. This protection deck can do it all: attack, thwart and recur allies, almost feeling like he contains all four aspects.
