Pretty much you're average anime protagonist build - never give up, recover and come back stronger.
Why Spiderman for this? His kit lets you gain the most value from defending. Try to exploit this with upgrades as much as possible.
His alter ego fills the "character progression"-part of an anime. The free resource each turn lets you collect all the upgrades you need. Healing from Aunt May makes you come back even faster after taking a hit. Get all your attachments out and switch to spidey form to kick some ass. Try to defend each villain attack, then get back up with Indomitable and Desperate Defense to attack on your turn if needed. Deal damage to the villain mainly through Swinging Web Kick and kill minions through Energy Barrier, allies and normal attacks.
Hard to Ignore is what makes this deck go full anime. It gives you the threat removal you desperately need. It is not uncommon to: draw a card, deal 2 damage (Nova), deal another damage (Electrostatic Armor), remove 3 threat from the main scheme (3x Hard to Ignore) and still stand for next round in late game due to all the benefit you get from defending. Emphasis lies on "late" game - as the titel suggest we need some ramp up time to get our hero going.
You will struggle dealing with side schemes. This is where miles and other allies come in to help. Try not to use Black Cat and Nova for this. Black Cat's job is to ping enemies consistently for 1 Dmg each turn and Nova usually remains on the board with 1 HP to counterattack villain attacks (good energy resource ratio to do this every turn, get rid of Desperate Defenses and Indomitables you don't want to use this way).
Managed to clear a lot of scenarios on heroic with this deck. Hope it makes your Marvel Champions experience a little more anime.

Nov 14, 2021I think wilds are generally extremly strong in the game even as 1 resource (nova trigger, villain attachments, etc) and are the type of auto-include that only get better with larger card pool. So if you really need the space, go for it, haven’t felt the need yet :-) (and in those cases where you pay nova or energy barriers with them their value is obviously insane) |

Nov 15, 2021Oh yea sounds good! Haven’t had the chance to get my hands on MTS yet. Will try that card then |
I am working on my own prott-Spiderman and have to ask: Is it really worth it to have two The Power of Protection in this deck? You have only 4 cards that may benefit from it.
