Aren’t all pre-cons weak?
The point of this tweak is to let you explore the main concepts in Venom’s pre-con deck in a logical way with minimal substitutions.
Allies Are Force Multipliers
You need more than 2 allies in your deck especially when 1 takes 4 turns to get his full value and the other may cause more problems than he solves.
-3 Resourceful (inefficient)
-3 Plasma Cannon (this concept is too dumb to explore)
+4 basic Guardians
+1 Team-Building Exercise to make them cheaper
+1 Knowhere to reward you with cards for playing allies
Upgrades and Resources You Want
Don’t pack 3 Side Holster when you can only have 1 in play.
-2 Side Holster
+1 Sense of Justice and now all of your Behind Enemy Lines will confuse
+1 Enhanced Physique and now all of your Grasping Tendrils will stun
-2 The Power of Justice because this only worked with 4 cards anyway
+2 The Power in All of Us works with 8 cards 5 of which you may play multiple times
Final Thoughts
I hope this deck is helpful to new Venom players.
There are still several concepts in this deck that are weaker than the what you could include with a full card pool (like Scare Tactics instead of Turn the Tide), but I hope here you find a deck that doesn’t totally suck and quickly get you back into a game where you’ll have more fun.
