I read a lot of comments on forums about how dull Wasp is, especially compared with Ant-Man. Those people obviously never played my "Girl gets Goliath" deck, because that deck is shockingly fun and powerful.

The key to playing Wasp is to understand that she is absolutely nothing like Ant-Man. While Ant-Man is motivated to flip every turn by passive effects, enabling flip synergy game play, Wasp is all about her G.I.R.L. alter-ego ability and intelligence resources. When playing Ant-Man I almost never go into alter-ego mode, but with Wasp you should enter AE every chance you can get. Like, you should mulligan aggressively and shuffle 2 cards into your deck as the first action of your first turn. By the time you have less than 10 cards in your deck you'll understand how fun, unique, and powerful Wasp can be, and you'll forget all about that Ant guy.

In my first published Wasp deck it was all about recurring Goliath and Inspiring Presence for some big damage turns. The one weakness that deck kept running into was the lack of healing. Once Wasp took damage from extra attacks, etc., it was extremely difficult to regain those hit points. So, I was looking at green.

At the same time everyone is all hyped about the aerial cards from the Star-Lord pack, and I was right there with them. I was especially interested in exploring Ever Vigilant. I thought about a Captain Marvel deck or Thor deck, and I've played some decks created by others, but nothing hit me. Then, in a moment of epiphany I realized that Ever Vigilant produces an intelligence resource. Well, I knew the deck I had to make.

This deck rocks. I love it. I know what you are thinking, "but what if Bio-Synthetic Wings is at the bottom of the deck?" Well, that would suck, but in the meantime you have some crazy good Multiple Man synergy. Honestly, I didn't realize how good Multiple Man really was in a Wasp deck until I played this. The key is to kill the guy asap so you can keep playing him. Wow, it is bonkers. Then, since you are flipping every turn Perseverance is kinda broken. Between endless chump blocking and toughness Wasp barely ever takes damage, but just in case there's 1 copy of Second Wind and The Night Nurse to recycle as needed. The 2 copies of Side Step are overkill the and you can use them as flex slots to put in your favorite ally or whatever.

This deck starts to hum once you are playing 1 or 2 Ever Vigilant every turn (yeah, it happens). Your ideal shuffle is 1 Ever Vigilant and 1 Genius. After that, you win, pretty simple. My only concern is the low attack and danger of villain threat burst into a stupid loss, but those are minor problems in most scenarios. The decks has all you need to win consistently.

Looks like a ton of fun thanks. First Wasp deck to get me excited to try her so will be trying it out as my first time playing her.

Think i'll slot in Unflappable for one of the sidesteps. Seems like enough opportunities to justify it with 3x recyclable Perseverance and it's a science. Considering Starhawk for the other sidestep, don't want to mess with the strong Multiple Man synergy here too much but Starhawk can at least kill himself and go back to hand.

Just realized for tough to trigger Unflappable you'd have to exhaust Wasp so will have to think more on that not quite as good of synergy as I thought

Never got the complaining about Wasp, she's incredible. I had a nice justice deck that worked on the same principle as this one ( playing a lot of AE), it was alot of fun.

This looks very nice, got to try this! Thx!

Cool deck! I had started on something similar, but this nails it.

I've been banging the 'Wasp is awesome' drum for months now, and it always makes me happy seeing others who appreciate her! It's a joy to play a hero that actually wants to constantly alternate between forms.

Fantastic deck you have there, gave a similar deck a whirl over the weekend and it's heaps of fun.

I’m also a huge fan of Wasp! It’s interesting that this deck doesn’t really utilize what makes her good with Protection (3 DEF). Ever Vigilant is definitely the best new aerial card and definitely most usable in Wasp though. Have you tried Brother Voodoo to get to it more often? 1-2 copies of Civic Duty might also be worth a thought since you’re readying (especially if you throw in Swarm Tactics and partner with an Ant-Man player). Warlock could also be a useful THW ally with all of these spare mental resources floating around. Nice deck!

Is Multiple Man able to pull his copies from the discard? if not I'm not sure how its that good to kill them ASAP and bring them in with G.I.R.L. Unless the goal is to cycle them in once they are all dead? So then once you encounter one, you can pull all again. - I think that's it right?

@journeyman2I think Brother Voodoo is a great option and, if partnered with an Ant-Man player, Swarm Tactics. Civic Duty is a no because Ever Vigilant also removes threat and Giant Help is there for side schemes.

@EpicoTocinoMultiple Man doesn't pull from discard. Wasp in AE shuffles the dead copies back into the deck, which gets smaller and smaller as you play. You then draw and play again. You can play Multiple like 3 times in one trip through the deck.

I think people just looked past her because of Antman. I have been running a similar Protection deck for months. I was excited to see Ever Vigilant printed. The Wasp Protection deck is top notch, I would go as far as to say it's the best Protection deck right now.

Tell me about running "Assess the Situation" x3? Right now I only use it in Hulk because it's never a dead card. Why did you choose to include it here?

May 26, 2021 neothechosen · 10751

I ran it as well with Wasp. It's so you can target it with GIRL, plus starting in AE with 7 cards is just amazing.

@Dragonclawneothechosen answered your question, but I just want to add to it. Including assess the situation is like running a 37 card deck instead of 40. Cards like that are called cantrips. It smooths out awkward draws, digging faster for key cards, while also shifting a card forward a turn (so it turns a hand of 6 followed by a hand of 6 into a hand of 5 followed by a hand of 7). In general that card shift almost always makes for a better overall deck performance, especially since the shift is voluntary. That's why it's so good in Hulk, as you said. I found that it also works in this deck where you want to see key cards (like Multiple Man) asap. It's one of those cards that doesn't look good on paper, but makes decks better in practice. It might be so good that it should be in every deck ever.

That being said, it does take up a slot that could be used for other fun cards. If you wanted to replace it with something I wouldn't argue against you. It would be like arguing that somebody cut their favorite 43 card deck down to 40. If it's more important to run more good cards then do it. I think here Wasp has all the tools she needs so the card fits. Hope that helps.

@DukeWellington you explain it so much better!

This is a really cool evolution on my Wasp/Protection and Ever Vigilant is a heck of a card, one of my favorites from the Guardians cycle. Well done.

Let's go Wasp take the spotlight from Ant Man

Built a deck very similar to this recently. I added in Fighting Fit as it's really easy to keep her health above her initial 11, especially with all the defense/chump blocking/tough statuses. The only con is it isn't a Mental resource.
