This is the first in a series of decks I'm putting together using only cards from Agents of Shield onward (AoS+). Even though so much of Marvel Champions is inaccessible to new players, it's still a game for everyone!
The idea behind this deck is that we're going to get Black Cat and White Wolf (the Color Animal gang, I guess) on the board. Neither of them takes consequential damage from attacking, so once they're in play they'll be continuous damage output which frees us up to defend.
The rest of our ally slots are intended either shore up defenses or deal with threat. She-Hulk can thwart for 2 or defend while also giving us a tough. We can then get 4 more thwart out of her or 2 and a block if we're in a tight spot. Misty Knight thwarts for 3 the turn she enters play, which can really help us rescue a bad board (or one-shot most side schemes in solo). Since both of them are Defenders, we're bringing Defensive Formation to let them keep getting work done.
Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and Yellow Jacket are high-value cards that can make a lot of impact when they get into play. Command Team lets us really put our allies to work, and "Avenge Me!" means their sacrifices are never in vain. The Triskelion gives us another ally slot to work with, which is good, because with two permanent allies on the board it can get pretty crowded.
We can drop an Inspired to get a little more output from any ally, but Black Cat and White Wolf are our best targets. Righteous Purpose adds so much more value to every ally , but really shines on the the two permanents (just thwart with Black Cat and White Wolf once to get them fired up) as well as Misty Knight with a Defensive Formation backing her up (5 thwart, anyone?).
Spider-man comes with a little bit of everything, so he makes a great generalist hero. Plenty of economy, great defenses, a little bit of control, Swinging Web Kick to close out games, and maybe the best hero support ever printed: Aunt May. Spider-Tracer is his only "dud," and even that is way better now that villains tend to come with more minions than early on in the game. This deck provides an opportunity to let good ole' Pete do what he does best: keeps his friends safe and cooperate for the win!
