"This multiplayer threat-control deck utilizes Black Panther's plentiful resources to fuel Cloak's ability" ~D.M. Tip

Simplicity is Black & White

Cloak and Dagger are a bit slow, but their concept is quite simple and efficient. Here we're going to make use of Black Panther's extra resources to fuel Cloak's ability to bring Dagger back as needed. The deck can also fuel Ghost Rider in the same way, though it's not focused on keeping him around for the long term.

Dark Threats

We are packing quite a bit of thwarting power across 8x events and 2x Overwatch. I'm not going to make a case for each specific event in detail, but they provide us a solid base to control ongoing threats before and even after we're able to get Cloak onto the field. You can swap these out depending on your player count or collection to better fit your needs. As long as you can help your team deal with threat each turn, you're good to go.

Hard to Find

Cloak can be quite elusive, especially in a deck without Chance Encounter. However, he's not the crux of the deck and we'll survive just fine for several turns without him. Once found, Cloak & Dagger can efficiently remove threat and deal damage, respectively. Focus on tempo plays and control until you draw into him.

Damage Control

Black Panther gives you the joy of choosing which hero upgrade to start the game with, so you can pick your favorites. Depending on the scenario, I'll grab the Vibranium Suit or Energy Daggers. The threat removed from Tactical Genius is so small and unreliable, that I do not recommend starting with it, unless your opening hand needs an extra resource to play out perfectly.

For minion clearing, use Wakanda Forever! and basic attacks as needed. Because we're packing Infiltration it's nice to have a little extra minion slaying power, so we've also brought Hawkeye who can sling arrows with ease once Cloak is out.

This deck isn't anything fancy, but it works. Our boy has been around since the core set, so I know he can feel a little stale at times. That said, I still enjoy building decks like this to get him to the table. He still wants his upgrades and to use Wakanda Forever!, but he has enough flexibility to be a solid asset to any team. For testing, I ran him alongside Iron Man Leadership and Daredevil Aggression against the Getaway/Electro with great success.

Do you find yourself going back to core set heroes with newer cards or have you evolved past them and focus on newer designs?

Peace!
