Peter Parker, Champion
This deck started as a Cameo deck for Ironheart's Brawn ally for his big attacks and free resources, and was initially inspired by the recent Sidekicked: A Marvel Champions Podcast - Episode 34 which features Brawn (and Brawn & Amadeus Cho).
But after plugging in my "crutch" allies I decided to back most of the them out and focus on CHAMPION allies only.
That said, there's only a tiny amount of CHAMPION synergy here coming from Patriot who will give +1 to any ally except for Black Cat. That's been really powerful, especially when targeting Brawn:
- Base 3 ATK and 2 THW
- +1 ATK and THW from Patriot
- +1 ATK and THW from Inspired
- +1 ATK and THW from Leadership Skill
- For a total of 6 ATK and 5 THW!
But he's great boosting anyone who will also get a +1 from Leadership Skill (Spider-Man: Miles Morales is spicey).
Call for Backup finds Brawn and you'll play the following on him:
- Inspired (There's a second copy for Black Cat who ideally will only be attacking)
- Reinforced Suit
- Sidekick
While exhausted, Brawn generates 1 of the 2 resources needed to play Side-by-Side.
Avengers Compound is here to "store" Moon Girl until I can (or want to) flip down to play her.
Honorary Avenger is here for Spider-Man so he'll have the AVENGER trait in alter-ego, allowing him to play Avengers Compound and "Avenge Me!" while there.
No readies??
Aside from Side-by-Side to ready Spider-Man and Brawn, there are no other readies in this deck, not even my favorite one: Inspiring Presence. That's just because I didn't have room for them.
If your prefer readies over boost, you can swap Leadership Skill out for Get Ready, Inspiring Presence, or Command Team!
I prefer the boost here because if I can attack with Brawn for 6 and myself for 2 and ready them both with Side-by-Side, I can attack again for 7 and 3, wiping out most minions in the game, and / or a villain stage.
Not much testing (yet)
I've started a new job with hours very different than I was accustomed to, so I've only played two games with this deck so far, both against Standard Crossbones.
In both games I revealed Legions of Hydra twice, but still crushed the scenario with ease (advancing to Main 2B in both games).
