I love playing Psylocke, but her precon deck has always seemed odd for solo play because it contains only two Justice aspect events, neither of which is a thwart. Even Directed Force, which is great, feels like a tricky inclusion for a hero whose hand size is 4. So my goal here was to increase her ability to manage threat, shifting damage and confusion to Psylocke's kit cards. I also removed anything with a cost of 4+, though you certainly could include those cards. It becomes easier to spend those resources as your board is built out.

For my play style, my priorities for play are:

  • Get Helicarrier on the table for resource generation.
  • Play Psimitar, though it has some important caveats. Psimitar is a restricted card, as are Psylocke's Psi-Katanas. So if you have Psimitar in play one of those permanent cards must be on the Psi-Knife side. Additionally, know that Body Swapped will force you to discard Psimitar if you reveal that card.
  • Use player side schemes: Lay the Trap is great for avoiding retaliate (or for occasions when most of your hand is geared toward thwarting). Superpower Training is a way to grab or recycle Martial Arts Training, Psionic Training, or Weapons Training. Martial Arts Training tends to be the one I grab, though Weapons Training could be useful if you plan to attack, then flip and use her alter ego action.

I’ve been happy with this deck in the times I’ve played it, except perhaps a game where I revealed Shadows of the Past late in a two-handed game with Quicksilver. Ended up with 9 threat on Interdimensional Plunder! Happy to hear suggestions.
