"This deck punches its way to victory by defeating minions in the villain phase to control threat and gain the upper hand" ~D.M. Tip

Soldier of Change

As with most Protection decks, getting our upgrades out early is key.

Fortune PUNCH!

Our strategy is simple. Punch the target as often as possible and, ideally, in the villain phase. The general fist-flinging notes are as follows:

  • Take hits from the villain that cannot be negated and focus defense on minions.
  • Utilize your allies and teammates to set up minions to be within striking distance of your punches. Remember that Cybernetic Arm adds damage to both Powerful Punch(5) and Arm Block(4), while Counter-Punch only hits for 2.
  • If you don't have any punches to play in the villain phase, it's okay to manually defend against a minion to take zero damage a trigger 3x Hard to Ignore and Unflappable.
  • Ready for a Fight enables you to easily seek minions out with Safe House #30 in alter-ego and gives you the option of flipping up during the minion activation, avoiding the villain's attack if necessary.
  • You can also "Come Get Me, Bub!" to bring out a minion and let them sit until the villain phase, allowing you to absorb the villain attack with tough and then defend/punch the minion.
  • When everything pops off as planned, you can punch a minion in the villain phase, defeating them to remove 2 threat (Lethal Protector), draw 2 cards from Change of Fortune, one card from Winter Mask, remove 3 threat from the main scheme with Hard to Ignore, and draw one card from Unflappable. That's 5 threat and 4 cards, for 2 or 3 effective resources and a ready hero or 1 effective resource and a basic defense/exhausted hero if using Counter-Punch.
  • Spend your windfall of resources punch even more with Metal Punch and use Electrical Discharge and Silent Infiltration for additional status conditions.

And there you have it. We've got a deck with all kinds of purposeful and powerful punches that I believe Captain Falcon would be proud. If you try this out, I hope you have fun punching your way to victory! I'd love to hear any questions, comments, or improvements you have down below. Until next time.

~Peace!
