Shadowcat isn't usually a born Leader, but when her older self comes back in time to take over her young body, she was a critical leader in one of the X-Men's most seminal stories.
I recently acquired the Magneto hero pack and considered what I wanted to do with my new Cyclops and Phoenix Leadership Allies, and decided that I wanted to do a deck with Kitty Pryde more or less being "babysat" by the older X-Men - Beast, Professor X and obviously Storm made thematic sense. The X-Men Leadership core is so strong that any mutant can make it work, and giving Kitty some extra allies to take hits so that she can actually stick around in minion heavy scenarios is something that appeals to me.
But then I started thinking about how to take advantage of Solid/Phased within the context of a Leadership Deck. It's a Form Change card that also pays for attack events, which isn't exactly the blue aspect's strong suit. But then I thought about how much I love Moxie with Ant-Man and Vision, and thought about Go All Out, and realized this is something that Kitty can really make use of. With the 2/2/2 stat line, Go All Out is already a highly efficient attack for Shadowcat, but if you combo it with Moxie it can be a 9 damage for 2 cost card. (10 Damage if you use Specialized Training to spec into attacking.)
Now that sounds like a Shadowcat that can take point and lead her team. I'm excited to try this out and see if Shadowcat can survive the experience for once.
