Deck Description

Things getting a little too hot? Might be time to cool off!

This deck was tested this before the Con of Heroes 2025 and I have been tinkering with it ever since. I have run a variety of scenarios and player counts, and it can be a little tricky early on, but Iceman has a ton of survivability early on, and this deck provides tools to manage the board until you're all set up and going crazy.

The deck focuses on getting Iceman the support he needs, in the form of:

  1. Healing Factor to stay in hero form longer and keep Self Confidence, Self Preservation, and Self Control going strong
  2. Staying in hero form also keeps Ice Slide going for as long as possible to get maximum use out of the stat boosts
  3. Stick-To-Itiveness and Utopia to get those precious readies that Iceman loves
  4. Lots of resource generators: Deft Focus, Team-Building Exercise, The X-Jet
  5. AE support with Moira MacTaggert, X-Mansion, and Mutant Education--flip down when you have a few frostbites and shuffle in up to 8 of your identity-specific cards back into your deck

Play mutants, ready, and do Iceman things. What else is there?

Good callback to Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends. That show was fun and so is Iceman with Web Warriors. Built a deck to get more readies and resources out of Iceman's kit.

Nice deck! I love Healing Factor here. Did you find that Mutant Education was consistently getting used in playtesting? I'm hesitant to throw it into an Iceman deck because I hate shuffling Ice Slide back into the deck, but I'm interested to hear your take!

@kmomoney I try to time it so that with enough frost bite and Mutant Education, you can shuffle a lot of cards into a small deck and get it back quickly!

That makes sense. I bet that next turn it's extremely likely you hit the kicker on Cryokinetic Perception!

@kmomoney Exactly! That’s a big part of the strategy!

Looks good! Love the idea of using Mutant Education and his AE ability to shuffle a ton back in!

I like how you just provided a dash of Pool to liven up an already strong set of Iceman and basic cards. I'll throw a deck I made for your Toe to Toe episode in for my Iceman submission. I had a good time playing it and it performed solidly. marvelcdb.com

(Frozen) Solid deck! It was tons of fun to play. Lots of resource generating cards that are actually being used most rounds and lots of readies. Being able to play Frozen Solid and Ice Wall with minimal sacrifice feels great (I've actually played them both in the 5th round).

@Castlefrank47 yeah, just shuffling in a heap of identity specific cards is so fun!

@LACK OF SUBTLETY sadly that’s what most Pool decks are. I’d love to see the aspect getting melee support but I’m not counting on it.

@Goatzilla Glad you gave it a whirl! Iceman is so fun, and I’m pumped to talk about him all month.

This looks familiar...marvelcdb.com

Though I do very much like the addition of Mutant Education

Nov 05, 2025 boomguy · 9128

@Jacinto it’s hard to make Pool decks that differentiate themselves too much, given the rather thin cardpool. But I like that great minds think alike!

I love it…. The only aspect I haven’t built it in

@DanTheCrow what are you waiting for?!
