Jubilee Tackles the Mall
Events
I've been testing this deck against Expert Sabretooth and it's been quite fun! I finally got around to recording it! You can watch it right here!
There are some good Attack events in Protection, but the first two I thought of were Momentum Shift, which becomes Heal 2 Deal 4 with proper play and Jubilee's Sunglasses out, and Tackle. While it's not as efficient as Firecracker, Tackle gets you the same effects for only 1 more resource (again, with proper play and Jubilee's Sunglasses out): Stun and Deal 6 (3 because you used a resource and 3 from Jubilee's Sunglasses).
That gets up up to six Stun events, and while this isn't really about stun-lock, having more opportunities to stun helps against Steady villains (and stuns always provide a nice reprieve).
Multitalented versus Hit and Run
I'm running 2 copies of Multitalented, which has only a slight advantage over Hit and Run imo, and that's the healing off of an resource. With the amount of Stun and ally blocking in this deck, I found myself not taking a lot of damage anyway though, and I could heal that with Momentum Shift.
Except for the healing, Hit and Run acts the same (+3 damage with Jubilee's Sunglasses and +3 thwart with Jubilee's Coat when using 3 different resources) but there's also a tiny upside in that it has a printed icon and Multitalented has a printed . I only mention that because this deck is stacked with resources, and swapping those two resources gives a slightly better resource balance. But is it worth it? Even though I don't need the healing very often, I'd rather still have it when I need it, so I'll stick with Multitalented.
Resources and Generators
The Power in All of Us is a double (obviously) for Basic cards and you can choose two different resources for those s to represent when you spend it, which will let you get extra damage with Jubilee's Sunglasses and extra Thwart with Jubilee's Coat when playing Multitalented. With both in play and three different resources, Multitalented Deals 5 (to a single enemy or 2 & 3), Thwarts 5 (to a single scheme or 2 & 3), and Heals 2! But even if you use it to pay for a non-Basic card it's still a single !
The Power of Protection is a double (obviously) for Protection cards, and you can choose two different resources for those s to represent when you spend it, which will let you get extra damage with Jubilee's Sunglasses when playing Momentum Shift and Tackle (and of course you'll treat one of them as for Tackle). But even if you use it to pay for a non-Protection card it's still a single !
The X-Jet is just another to use as needed, and I'll most likely never play it from hand. This is my #1 target for Build Support.
X-Gene is a little better in Jubilee than other heroes imo for two reasons:
- All of her Identity Specific events, her Coat and her Sunglasses care about the types of resources spent.
- I'm typically going to stay in Alter-Ego on the first turn to finish off Shopping Spree, so that gives me the opening hand, a mulligan, and a second hand to find an X-Gene (especially with 2 of them in the deck). Drawing into your second copy later is also fine since it has a printed .
Jubilee
Since Jubilee is ALSO a resource generator, The X-Jet seems redundant. But when you need to generate 3 different resources (for Blinding Flash, Grande Finale and Tackle) two s goes a LONG way, and X-Gene adds the third for Blinding Flash and Grande Finale!
Once you've found Jubilee's Coat and Jubilee's Sunglasses Jubilee becomes a 2/2/2 hero which is a good stat-line, so I'm running 8 X-Men allies for readies with Utopia to make good use of her stats and Resource ability. I was using What Doesn't Kill Me for a while too but I felt like having more Attack events was the way to go!
Finally, Jubilee is squishy with only 9 HP, so I added Endurance to get her up to 12, and with so many Attack events which also Stun, she doesn't want to become stunned herself so The Night Nurse helps protect her there.
Allies
All X-Men allies gets you additional readies and a fourth ally slot with Utopia, and of course, allies help keep Jubilee alive.
Professor X gets you a fourth Confuse card which helps Jubilee flip down to Alter-Ego a little more often, and she likes to do so a for a few reasons:
- Flipping down heals Wolverine
- Shopping Spree doesn't go to the victory display, so once you've shuffled your deck you can flip down and get it with her Mall Rat action of you don't have both of your items out yet (or maybe one was discarded from play by Caught Off Guard or similar).
- X-Gene can only be played in Alter-Ego, so if you drew it late you'll want to flip down to play it.
Playing the deck
I mentioned earlier that I like to stay in Alter-Ego on the first turn to finish Shopping Spree, and that feels right a lot of the time, but if I can get a good board built up on turn 1 (Armor or Polaris, Firecracker plus a Plasmoid Energy, or maybe I drew into Jubilee's Sunglasses or Jubilee's Coat, etc.) I'll consider flipping up right away.
After that, you have enough Stun to keep the villain off your back and enough Confuse to flip down when you want or need to.
In scenarios with several minions this deck will probably struggle, but once you have Jubilee's Sunglasses down you can spread the damage from Attack events around a little bit and hopefully take out two minions at once.

There are three things which make Sabretooth interesting:
|
Sure Expert Sabretooth, but you're keeping him stun-locked anyway, right?
