Doctor Strange is as broken as ever, some people find it dull while others find enjoyment in steamrolling expert.
The Idea
Doctor strange doesn't have any weaknesses?! False. Or well, he is lacking in some aspects at least. He is a useless minion stomper and quite prone to falling low on health w/o reliable chump blocking. Also, preferably you want to use his exhaust for his invocation deck and less so on defending. His typical play style of "hope I hit the jackpot when I play the invocation slot machine game" becomes kinda boring and tedious in my opinion.
The solution
We all love a good ol' protection deck, however until now I've only seen decks that utilize Ever Vigilant or What Doesn't Kill Me to ready him. This doesn't really play into his weaknesses (sadface). Hence, I've been looking into the oh so popular Repurpose builds, and this is what I've come up with. (I know, not very innovative but I'm trying my best here)
How does it solve the above mentioned issues you might ask? Well let me explain. The tech build will not only give you a reliable source of damage mitigation. It also allows you to ready fairly often which of course is a big plus for the Doctor. And the best part: exhausting to use your basic attack actually becomes an attractive alternative, especially when you run out of luck looking for that juicy invocation card, thus solving the minion stomping issue. Turns actually becomes fairly interesting, and you suddenly get a (almost) plethora of alternatives.
Too few techs you say? That might be true for a hero who can't draw a third of his deck in one turn.
The Strategy
Ah, by now we should all know how to play Doctor Strange. But I should maybe mention a few things. Draw cards, draw more cards and even more cards early game and build the table. I will be honest and say that Electrostatic Armor is totally useless in itself as you never defend. However it's a cheap backup for Repurpose when you don't want to discard Forcefield Generator or Energy Barrier w/o making use of them first or early game.
Two other fairly useless cards are Clea and Starhawk. I know they are fairly good... however the deck is at it's best when you have the amazing trio Wong, Cosmo and Black Widow in play without letting them die. Hence poor Clea and Starhawk are simply there for the early game to be thrown to the dogs. Rip.
Final thoughts
Err, this deck is as expected by a Doctor Strange deck: op af. Enjoy =)
Do you use the turning the invocation deck also deals you an encounter card?
