Gamora is the best

From the release on I loved Gamora. She is exactly my playstyle. She doesn't need a lot of setup and pings damage around, like candy. She's also very versatile.

A few days ago, I had the idea of crafting a protection deck with her, because I was intrigued by the idea and didn't see it that much around and this is the result.

So far I defeated Expert Rhino, Klaw, Ultron and Red Skull. Also Standard Ronan und Thanos (which was a bit rough, as he is stalwart (more on this later)).

The Stunlock

With Drop Kick, Tackle, Mockingbird and Iron Fist there are 8 stun cards, which are the key to this deck. Ideally the villain is constantly stunned and just sits around waiting for you to beat them up. In addition, there is Concussive Blow to confuse the villain and give Gamora some time to flip to alter-ego side and get some more resources. However, of course, you won't draw ideally (or you fight against Thanos) and sometimes you can't confuse or stun the villain. That's were all the allies come in. They will happily jump in the way or the awesome Crosscounter does it's thing.

The setup

I said that Gamora doesn't need a lot of setup, but that doesn't mean she needs no setup. The most important pieces are the two Keen Instincts and either Helicarrier or Avengers Mansion, ideally both. But usually Gamora can flip to the hero side in the first turn and go from there.

Gamora's Sword and Conditioning Room are a great bonus and leverage Gamora's strength, the Sword especially, because the deck is packed with attack events.

Allies

As I already stated, Iron Fist is pretty good in this deck, as he stuns twice in a row, though sometimes he is too expensive. Groot is an awesome defender against pesky minions, because of his ability to heal everytime. Nebula costs basically just one, as you almost always find something. She can thwart (kinda our weakness) and then defend. Mockingbird stuns the villain, which is all Gamora wants and Nick Fury is just Nick Fury.

Events

As I said, Drop Kick and Tackle are the key events in the deck, with Drop Kick being the more preferable card for dealing 4 damage. But both do the job and trigger Gamora's Finesse ability. Concussive Blow confuses the villain and helps Gamora to take some time off in Alter-Ego form. Then there is Tackle, one of my favorite protection cards, that helps us stay in the hero form even longer. Gamora's own events are sometimes useful, but mostly used for resources. However, the weak spot of this deck is threat and her thwart events are helpful in handling that and also for triggering her Precision ability to get rid of tough status cards.

Support and Upgrades

Helicarrier makes cards cheaper, Avengers Mansion draws more cards. Keen Instincts are absolutely key to pay for the costs for our stun and confuse events. Energy Barrier is kind of a flex slot. It's okay in this deck and I can totally see playing another event, but it proved very valuable against enemies with retaliate.

Weakness

One weak spot of this deck is threat. However, it is not uncapable of managing it. It is just a thing, you constantly need to have an eye on. This is also why the most frequent basic action used will be Thwart. The other weak spot are stalwart enemies (this is a stun lock deck, remember?) In these scenarios, the allies are Gamora's best friends and need to jump more into the line than usual. Also Gamora's own events are more important, as the stun events become overcosted for the damage they deal.
