Quite a specific reference that might not carry to anyone outside of the UK, but I'm sticking with it...
Anyways, it's been a while since I ventured into Adam Warlock territory and, since I'm bored at work and perusing his fine site for time-wasting opportunities, thought I'd have a bash at a deck for him.
As tempting as it was to throw millions of upgrades at him, it seemed a little counter-productive possible given his Battle Mage ability and his own Event cards want you to discard constantly to give greater effect.
So how do we do this? A deck of two halves it seems...
Sure, we want a decent amount of Upgrades on him - we hope to ready with Warlock's Cape, buffing him with +12 hit points and turning him into a 3-3-4 baseline is pretty handy. Deft Focus and The Sorcerer Supreme finish him off nicely.
Onto Supports with just 2; C.I.T.T and Knowhere offering card draw and readying.
Now to the second half of the deck; the Allies. Many consider them the most valuable cards in the game, that's a 50/50 for me, but I do think they are the most expendable by proxy. And in a deck where you want to discard to trigger his own more powerful Events, let's throw the multi-aspect cards here. This way, you have the flexibility on whether to play the Allies themselves, or play his own Events.
Hope that follows!
In any case, I've thrown in, what I hope, is varied and versatile posse of Allies giving you options for any given moment from readying, to card draw/mining, attacking and thwarting. Fingers crossed they cover plenty of bases.
Well, that's the hope anyway.
Maybe I'll do a deck full of events only. Maybe.
Feedback appreciated as ever. Now, I'd best find some work to do...
If your goal is to buff his stats for better activations, Symbiote Suit plus Mitigated Threat is hard to beat, at least for solo. Probably too expensive at 2+ players.
